On Thursday, August 28th at 7:00 p.m. Barack Obama will be giving his acceptance speech in Denver. Eloise Bates and I are doing a party (I love parties) and want all of you to join us to watch this momentous occasion. However, we are doing this as a fundraiser for Jeff Merkley. We will supply the dinner, beer, wine, soft drinks and dessert. You supply the dollars for the Merkley campaign, so bring your checkbooks. Eloise has a lovely home in St. Helens and we would like to have about 50 people there to raise lots of money! There will be several TVs so you won't miss a word and won't it be fun to share the excitement with others rather than just clapping and jumping up and down all alone at home. The party will begin at six but if you can't make it by then, we will still give you dinner. Please let me know as soon as possible if you can come - we really need an accurate head count. When you reply, I will give you directions. Please email me back - this will be special and Jeff needs the money to defeat Gordon Smith! Obama needs a filibuster proof senate!
