As part of a comprehensive effort to recognize the loyalty, great dedication and vast contributions of the Hispanic community to the Democratic party, Governor Howard Dean is proud to support the Hispanic Leadership Council (HLC).
HLC members are a dynamic group of Hispanic professionals, business leaders, business owners, entrepreneurs and community leaders who represent a wide array of business, corporate, and civic groups across the nation. All HLC members are committed to advancing the ideals and values of the Democratic Party and the Hispanic Community. In this context, the HLC will provide critical input and direction to the Democratic Party leaders across the nation with a focus on the issues and concerns most critical to Hispanics today.
The HLC has three primary goals:
- Build the HLC leadership structure to provide continued input to Democratic Party leaders on issues of importance to the Hispanic community.
- Encourage and strengthen past, present and future Hispanic investments to the Democratic Party.
- Support the Democratic Party's Hispanic Outreach and strengthen the influence of Hispanics in the Democratic Party.
Distinguished Council Chairpersons and Executives are committed to building the HLC, and work together to steer the constituency group.
- HLC Chairperson
State Chairpersons and Vice-Chairpersons are selectively identified and recruited from groups of prominent business and community leaders across the country. These persons will guide the development of the HLC and coordinate HLC events. - HLC Executives
HLC Trustees and Individuals will comprise the HLC Executive Board. As members of the Board, they will receive exclusive event invitations and additional opportunities to interact with Democratic Party leaders and prominent Democrats in dialogues about the Party's most pressing issues.
