Republican Senate candidate Carly Fiorina has argued her corporate background shows she has the experience to make important decisions for California -- even though she was fired when she failed to deliver as CEO for Hewlett-Packard. Given the state’s tattered economy and 12.5-percent unemployment rate, Californians simply can’t afford a far-right candidate with a record of sending jobs overseas.
We've put together five facts to prove that point--and it’s important that every Californian sees them before making their decision this November.
Fact 1: CNBC.com: “Portfolio’s Worst American CEOs of All Time”; TradingMarkets.com, “Analysts: Carly Fiorina long on vision, fell short on execution at HP.”
Fact 2: “Fiorina has said she supports overturning Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion.” Los Angeles Times PolitiCal blog, [6/09/2010]. “...she has assiduously courted the right, calling for the repeal of health care reform…” The New York Times, [5/31/2010].
Fact 3:San Francisco Chronicle, [1/9/2004]; Investors Business Daily, [1/8/2004]
Fact 4: In a recent TV ad on national security, Fiorina says, "Terrorism kills—and Barbara Boxer is worried about the weather."
Fact 5: Carly Fiorina moved to California in 1999 and failed to register to vote. Then, she failed to vote in a series of local, primary, and general elections in: November 1999, March 2000, June 2001, November 2001, November 2001, March 2002, November 2002, October 2003, November 2003, March 2004, May 2005, June 2005, June 2006, November 2006, November 2007, and June 2008.
