From MSNBC: "Shiller: Housing slump may exceed Depression."

I have been calling this a recession for over a year; and I do not believe depression is too strong a term at present. It may be fine for the very upper middle and upper class; but for most of us it, at the very least is DEPRESSING. We wanted a great president; and we got a Herbert Hoover wannabe.

McCain has already admittted he knows little about economics; and his responses so far are worse than feeble.  We MUST have Democrats in the White House and congress.

McCain will not and cannot be the next president. We all have to work together to make sure that doesn't happen.

Yeah aren't those Republicans nice?

We can bail out a corporation (Bear & Sterns)with the taxpayer dollars to the tune of $29 billion and we can't give a nickel or even pass a law that makes usury illegal.

This illustrates what I've talked about before--our five branches of government: executive, legislative, judicial, Lobbyists (35,000 of them in DC), and the Federal Reserve Bank (a privately held and managed for profit institution)

It was the bankers of the federal reserve board who decided to use $29 billion of the taxpayers dollars to bail our Bear and Sterns. Our Congress didn't even get to vote on it.

AND it is said that we are represented. No. We are not represented as long as private citzens like the those on the board of the Federal Reserve bank and the 35,000 paid lobbyists (people we have no control over) in turn control our economy. Will we every wise up?

Our first step is to elect a president, Barack Obama who at least says that he will get rid of the lobbyists in DC.

Who knows? He might be lying, but at least his promise is better than what we get from corporate centrist Hillary. She thinks that lobbyist are just fine.
