It's true that there are some in this country who would argue that women and blacks should never have been given the right to vote; there are others who think that if we were a bit more like the Taliban or other theocratic, authoritarian regimes, America would be a better place; however, for those living in the twenty-first century, the fear-mongering, distortion, and out right lies used by the religious and radical right to defeat marriage equality are an embarrassment to this nation.

Our penchant for hypocrisy in championing freedoms for the majority while oppressing those freedoms for the minority, as witnessed in Maine last night, are a travesty of justice and a victory for ignorance, prejudice, and superstition. Eventually, as with slavery, post-slavery racist laws, sexist laws, or anti-miscegenation laws, the unjust tyranny of the majority that continues to justify discrimination against same-sex marriage will be recognized as the offensive, unreasonable, ignoble injustice that it truly is.

I predict that this new era of true freedom and justice for our LGBT brothers and sisters will arrive surprisingly soon, but clearly not soon enough. Those of us who know that such discrimination is wrong must raise our voices against it. We must demand true morality and break the stranglehold of the false morality that is used to perpetuate injustice. It is important to remember that Christianity and the Bible were used to justify every one of the egregiously immoral laws listed above, and that each of those laws originally reflected the majority view.

Tell your friends, your social network friends, your local representatives, your senators, and President Obama that they must lend their voice to the fight for true freedom.

The Greatest Threat to Democracy is Hypocrisy!

Hi Friend
Didn't that just make your whole day? We can now see just how many are against the radical left and Obama's crap he tries to sell us. Man I still am so happy to see that the left will not and can not do all of this raical crap to this country. Now if we could just get rid of all of them this would be a great day for America. After we do get rid of all of these assholes we need to keep a closer watch to make sure they never ever get back in. They need to go back to the front of the white house holding their stupid ass signs. That should prove to them that Obama is not god and we the people do not want the radical changes he wishes to impose on us.
We have great cause to hold our heads high and we are well on our way to take back America. We will return this country back to God and we the people. If you hate our flag or it offends you than go to hell radical ass holes. If the cross on the hill offends you don't fricken look. Who in the world would be offended by the American fricken flag? What a bunch of stupid retards. We don't like war we just want to smoke a joint and sing songs. America haters and white haters and flag haters get the F___ out of our way.
The real America loving God loving all people loving real Americans are coming and coming fast and hard. While we are not sure how the hell all of those radicals got there one thing we do know is they all must go. We do not need all of the Obama radicals calling us all racists. That really came back to bite them in the ass for sure.
No more praising Obama by our children and no more teaching capitalism is wrong. No more Obama care bill after it fails and no more leader going around telling all we are sorry for shit. No more first lady saying this is a down right mean country and she will no longer need to be proud for the first time. Man I am super charged and ready to go go go. Finally we te people have a voice and they will listen to us or else. You can fight we the people and even win a battle or two but you can not ever win the war.
All of the homo's, baby killers, anti war nuts and tree huggers will have to go back to where they came from. We will have new drilling clean coal and nuclear power. No more crap and trade and the czars can go back to the holes they crawled the hell out of. Man this is so fricken great I have to pinch my self. You are right Obama is not god and even a good wanna be god. We will stop his radical plans and deastruction of this great country. Good job people do not ever stop fighting. We will beat the radicals and send them the hell home and who cares if that home is in some communist country that they seem to love so much. America means too much to so many we can not allow those assholes to just take it without the biggest fight they have ever seen.
I also am fired up and now ready for antthing and everything they can throw at us. Let them piss us all off by calling us all racists and they will see that they were so wrong to do so. Wright and Van Jones racist comments really hurt the left a lot lot. All of the racist comments caused so many to question them so why the hell did they do it? What did they think they were doing by calling us all names very stupid. It is real hard to get support from somebody you just accused of being a racist. I hope they can see now that you get know where by being assholes.
The racist comments of Wright and Van Jones alone was enough for me to never ever support Obama. Jimmy Carter Nancy Pelosi and Bill Cosby calling all of us racists was just the cherry on top. The czars praising Castro Hugo Chavez and Mao was the nuts on the ice cream. The hate by the left for us was as cold as the ice cream. So they made the banana split. Right down the fricken middle. Whoes idea was it to try and call us all names instead of trying to win us over, very stupid. I just hope them radical assholes can see that their sky is falling.
Dear Friends,
I am so very happy to see that all of the town halls, tea parties and marches are paying off. If they will not listen to our voices than maybe they will listen to our votes. America is now awake my friends and I could not be more happy. This tells me that people are awake and aware of what the second coming god wanna be is up to.
We will take America back and bring God and faith back to America. We do not need radical dictators, communist socialist Marxist special interest groups to do it. Good damn job people, we showed them and will continue to do so one election at a time.
I can not wait, no more racist comments, no more crap and trade, no more radical czars and God will once again given the honor He deserves. Obama is a pozzzzer, a god wanna be, twenty years in an evil evil church with only evil taught. Van Jones one of the evil leaders side kicks. They sold their souls to the devil but God will win in the end. We the real people the real Americans have spoken. AMEN

What a plate full of GOP mismanagement you got yourself into. We're still here. Still supporting you.

We've got your back.

There comes a point in the development of a child where they learn the seemingly magical word, "no." And anyone who is a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, sibling or even casual observer probably knows that once that toddler is on message, getting him/her off it is damn near impossible.

It seems that the Republican Party, particularly those in Congress, and toddlers have a lot in common these days.

Our elected officials are bullied by corporations.
Does our vote mean anything?

The Supreme court will be deciding if corporations are people. Do they have the rights of the voting population? We will loose control of our government entirely if this is allowed. Already they bully and punish our elected officials, due to their hugh campaign contributions. We must route out this power and replace it with the concerns of the population. This how Canada, Germany and other western nations have achieved there social goals: mass transit, healthcare for all.

We do not have single payer insurance, because of corporate money and interests.
Our economy is in the toilet because wall street and main street no longer have common interests.

In Minnesota during Governor Pawlenty's terms, the democratically lead congress voted to cut social programs and build 3 sports stadiums! What a shame the poor major league teams and a University could not drum up the money to build them. Now the new stadiums are raising ticket prices and all other costs of attending the games. How fortunate that the State of Minnesota could cut benefits to the poor and needy in oder to increase our taxes. No money for broadband. No money for mass transit, and cut the money for Health and Human Services.

Why did The United States of America attack Iraq? Our military is run by corporations, now.

Why are we supporting a military empire that continues to grow?

Our citizens male and female have voted with their feet to not join the military complex. So how do we continue the warS? By paying corporations to hire people and send them into battle. And these battle grounds have no non-combat positions: truck drivers, cooks, nurses, electricians everybody is on the front line. We are, now, represented not by United States military even in a lot of combat positions, but paid mercenaries.
4,326 dead as of September 8th 2009 in the Iraq war.

804 dead as of Sept 8th 2009 in the Afganistan war.

Where are the voices of those who voted for Obama to bring home our troops?

GET THE FACTS BEHIND THE NEWS!
The Republican party has an opportunity to seize this moment and establish themselves as the leading party. As the discussions on healthcare reform continue it has become apparent that the public wants healthcare reform that will cover almost everyone and they want it at the lowest cost possible.

Republicans have come up with several good ideas, selling insurance across state lines, giving individuals the same tax breaks as those who get insurance thru their employers, tort reform to lessen Doctors insurance costs etc. These idea will help but are not sufficient for almost universal coverage at the lowest cost possible.

How to save BIG MONEY on healthcare REFORM!
Despite all the smoke and mirrors the best opinion shows that the public option saves money not costs money. The Urban Institute of Washington DC estimated that a gov’t insurance plan would save $224 to $400 billion over a period of 10 years. The private insurance co’s simply will not offer the low cost full coverage insurance plans that would reduce the subsidy for the uninsured and underinsured. The gov’t plan would. The Massachusetts experience using Heritage Foundation ideas with exchanges has covered over 97% of the people but at high cost. Yearly insurance plans run from $800 to $1,000 per month. The Congressional Budget Office has confirmed the money saving of public option plans by estimating that the cost of one of the proposed House plans would be reduced from $1.1 billion to only $800 billion, a saving of $300 billion over a 10 yr period with a gov’t plan. The polls show 65% of the public want a gov’t option.

There is another important step we can take to reduce cost by an estimated $40 billion annually or $400 billion over a 10 year period.

According to Drs. David Himmelstein and Steffie Woolhandler Physicians for a National Health Plan the public option misses at least 84 percent of the administrative savings available through a single payer, gov’t, healthcare plan. The public plan option would not do anything to streamline the administrative tasks (and costs) of hospitals, physicians offices, and nursing homes. They would still contend with multiple payers, and hence still need the complex cost tracking and billing apparatus that drives administrative costs. These unnecessary provider administrative costs account for the vast majority of bureaucratic waste. The Physician group research in California showed that now 31% of every health care $ was paid for administrative costs. This compared to 3% of Medicare administrative costs. The PNHP single payer information is available at Tel 312-782-6006, info@pnhp.org.

The republicans will introduce a single payer healthcare reform bill with a gov’t plan. Many liberal democrats will go along The Republicans will take control of the healthcare reform debate and give the public what it wants.
We are a nation of pilgrims. Unless you are a Native American Indian, you have the blood of immigrants. Our individual immigration stories give credence to the fact that we are the scrappiest, hardest-working collection of people on the planet. Our relatives fled famine, persecution, incarceration or were brought here in chains. Some how they made it. Some way they built a life. It wasn’t easy to do, but they did it. And, they inspired a nation then and now. So, for that, we give thanks.

The Pilgrims were the first immigrants to the New World in 1621. Welcomed by Squanto, a Wampanoag Indian, whose generous spirit taught the first settlers how to build shelters, hunt, fish and farm the land. The Pilgrims that survived the first year, held a feast to celebrate their successful harvest and to give thanks to Squanto, and other Native Americans, that helped them pull it off. If you are a “hostess with the mostess,” you will also appreciate the fact that the Indians brought most of the goodies. So, what happened after the big feast and gushy banquet of thankfulness? Did the immigrants and the “real” Americans live happily ever after? Nope. Squanto was kidnapped, sold into slavery, escaped, helped by monks to get back to his native land 10 years later. When he finally got home, his tribe had been decimated by plague and settlers had taken his land. Soon there after, he caught a white man’s disease and died. Awesome. Not really the story we tell our kids.

With an adventurous spirit and strong determination, the white man thrived. Over time, stories of the land of opportunity made their way around the globe and scrappy dreamers from every country made their way to America’s shores. The rules were to find your way here, check in, work hard and the dream was yours. We became Irish Americans, Mexican Americans, Japanese Americans, Chinese Americans, African Americans, Native American’s, etc., but all Americans, nevertheless. Proud and free. We share a belief that despite how we got here, we are lucky to be here. Our patchwork history is woven together with a bunch of scraps that make up a complex and beautiful quilt. More like the story we tell our kids.

We are a warm and inviting country, but post 9-11, with our current economic climate, and masses of illegal immigrants living in the United States our blankey is being torn apart. We have families trying to achieve the American dream and terrorists trying to destroy it, both hiding under the same quilt. We are afraid. We don’t want the fabric of our nation to be compromised in any way. We have some people who have real ambitions to add to the texture of the American way of life, but some with little desire to assimilate and learn the language, customs or respect for American values. Some have come here to provide the cheap labor that legal residents refuse to do. They have children who are figuratively, and oftentimes literally, for all intents and purposes, American. They don’t speak their parent’s native language particularly well. They are fully Americanized, but because of their parent’s illegal status, they are children without a country.

Some illegals are here to harm America by plotting acts of terrorism, trafficking drugs and committing other serious crimes. We should be very concerned about them. The threat to our safety is real and we shouldn’t pretend it isn’t. However, we cannot allow the ideals of our nation to be tattered and torn by terrorists. Our nation of immigrants was always about people coming to America to become American. To live here, to learn the language, appreciate our patchwork culture and all of the wonderful things that come from it. Not just take its warmth, but work hard and become part of its fabric--celebrate it, contribute to it and give it the respect it deserves. So, we are left to wonder, who is here to help us sew new, creative patches on our quilt? Who is here simply to seek its warmth and hide? And, who is here to try and tear it all apart? If only we could figure out how to protect our resources, our culture and our people. Hmmm, I wonder what Squanto would say?

Don’t let strangers in or they’ll disrespect your way of life and take everything you have? Be generous and allow others an opportunity to adapt and learn from you, even at your own expense? Or, figure out how to protect your borders, be careful who you allow in and make sure that when you feed, clothe and provide shelter for people, they say thanks! We teach our children to be grateful for their many blessings and, at the same time, honor the generosity of the first Americans and the determination of the first immigrants who broke bread together. Because of them, our ancestors managed to stitch together a New World abundant with texture, color and quality. This vibrant quilt we call America is our most treasured family heirloom. We will proudly pass it on to future generations for comfort and security, but only to those who contribute to it’s patchwork, keep it fresh and clean, mend it when necessary and appreciate its unique beauty...only to those thankful to be part of the fabric of our society.

For some reason my post about the Obama Christmas cards didn't make it up on the site, but since it was so cute I thought it would be worth reposting. Anyway, I really like the idea of sending an Obama Christmas card for many reasons this year.

1. It helps reinforce the idea that some people are still behind their President and hope for real change.

2. It shows others that Obama is synonymous with Peace and Joy - two key holiday emotions.

3. It's just a new and interesting way to send a Christmas Card.

Here's the card I've chosen to send for my Obama Christmas. What's yours?

By pulling out of the election and telling her followers to vote for her democratic rival, Scozzafava just admitted to the people of Upstate New York what everyone on this list knows - that the Right of the party is becoming crazy. The Right is no longer a party that can be reasoned with, they don't understand or listen and they take their own like Scozzafava and destroy them. Is that politics? No, it is an all out attack on our American ideas. Scozzafava recognized that and that is why she told supporters to move into the Democrats Camp. Let's just hope enough people come to their senses to make a difference over there.

Could Obama Fall Victim to a Change We Can't Believe in?

At this point Obama's presidency could go either way - he can either become one of the greatest presidents this country has ever known, or go down as an exciting experiment that went bad. It's all up to how he handles the expectations of Independents.   Read More »

I am willing to give Issue 3 a chance to succeed. The first "Gambling" issue on the ballot was in Lorain county, and a lot of people were afraid of its potentially negative consequences. It was the 1980's and even then the area needed a cash infusion. The Native American gambling initiative was unable to pass the muster for some reason, in the 1990's. Now in 2009, I think we have seen the areas with "Gambling" outside of the traditional Atlantic City, Wheeling West Virginia, and Las Vegas; have not gone the way of Sodom and Gommorah.
Aside from the usual fear mongering and panic inducements, we have everyone of those horrible possibilities NOW! We continue to rank among the Poorest cities in America, sooo why not just hold your breath and try it. I'd rather give hometown investors a chance to experiment before we invite foreign Mega entertainment to own our lifeline (Downtown) and local GDP lock, stock and barrel. That way we may not end up over another "foreign" oil dependence in disguise as too much control over our economy, and culture. Maybe, we can get the bugs out of the program, before going International.
Hi Friend
I am so tired of all the name calling by both sides. Obama is not god or the antichrist and the right has a right to voice their opinions. If the right has concerns than they should be addressed. I also have heard some things I am not happy with but I will not resort to name calling. This is just childish and there has been people on both sides with concerns since time began. If I was smart I would quit both parties and start a new one with no bitching and wining. If the concerns are founded in truth than I too would like the same answers. I am not a democrat for my health or to farther my agenda. I am a democrat because they use to stand for something as did the right. Now there is a war going on right before my eyes and it is dividing this country.
There is no need to call the right racists and you know that is not true. I have friends of all colors and even republican friends and they want the best for this country as well as I do. I also see the left race baiting the right and this is not right. I feel in the end it will only hurt our party and nobody will like the left for that reason. Is the way to get people to see our side calling them racists? Shame on you all and you should stick to the issues at hand. I think Carter is an ass for calling anybody a racist he does not know that and has no proof. There were a lot of people that disagreed with Bush and every other past president so why have they now become racists? It is their American right to disagree and challenge the powers that be. That is the way we do things here we voice our opinions.
I for one do not like what I have heard about the rev Wright and think he should be forgiving of the whites and not preach hate. I do not agree with what he said and I will stand with the white man on that one. I also did not like what I heard about Van Jones either and I am still looking into this to see if what I heard was true. I am willing to listen and step back to see what is what and then give my opinion on the matter. I also do not think a whole lot of the czars either and feel they should go through a venting process.
I did check into the whole cap and trade thing and I agree that this is not the time for such a bill. It would cause energy costs to go up a lot and we can not afford this right now. I wanted will all of my heart for Obama to be real and help this country. I also have not seen a lot of open government or change that I can believe in. I do feel the whole government has forgotten that they work for us.
I very much feel like the left is pushing the race buttons of the right and there is no need for this. You will only serve to get them more angry and cause them to keep marching until their voices are heard. If they have questions than answer them do not call them names. I did not agree with the stimulus bill but I would not ditch my party for that alone. I do wish they would have read the darn thing because that was not right. I do love this country and love God also. I pass by the God is the blame and not the answer type of blogs. I fell also that anyone and everyone has the right to be pro life and do not have to embrace the gay lifestyle if they do not want to. That is the best thing about living in America we have the right to disagree.
I also do not want this country to change too much because I do think we need more God in our children's lives. I love the military and all they have done for all of us. If Obama is doing something I would not like than I would want somebody to point this out to me. I am not past asking anything solely because he is black. I think everything should be out on the table for all to see. I want to know everything Obama thinks says and does because I feel all should be accountable. I will leave this here for now but stop the name calling please. Allow the right to have their say and answer them.
The late President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned Americans about becoming captives of the Military-Industrial complex. Today,we must beware of the rising Educational Publishing/Consulting complex as the newest threat to our public interest. Like old time carnival snake-oil salesmen, these predators pose as educational experts, when, in reality, they are mere sales representatives pushing their merchandise and products. But public school officials and administrators who are desperately grasping at straws to increase academic success within their schools are easy prey for these hustlers. In so many instances the effectiveness and quality of their products is misrepresented and exaggerated or has not been sufficiently field-tested to offer a credible track-record. It is unfortunate that so many school board of education members, superintendents, curriculum directors, and principals are buying into these gimmicks without questioning their cost, reliability, or adaptability to the specific needs of their own schools and students. It is becoming a wasteful and irresponsible process due, in large part, to the provisions of the no Child Left Behind Act which requires school districts to spend a certain percentage of their funding on such consultancy and vendor products. Apparently it doesn't matter if the expenditures will actually benefit the students , assist the instructional needs of teachers, or advance the cause of quality education. Fattening the pocketbooks of these companies and vendors seems to be the main priority. there was a time in the United States when social studies books bragged about the highest quality of education provided by our educational system. Credit was given to the great American tradition of LOCAL CONTROL where local citizens determined the type, level , and structure of the education offered by their communities. But sadly, the No Child Left Behind Act is draining our nation's schools, educators, and students of their innovation, independence, vigor, and cohesiveness, and has been a miserable failure. The time has come to dump NCLLB into the trash!
Dear Jewan Tiwari:

Thank you for writing to me to share your thoughts
on the ongoing housing and economic crisis. As I address
these critically important issues, I appreciate and value
hearing from you to better inform my approach to these
tremendous challenges.

Today, access to the American Dream is being
tested by a mortgage crisis that threatens the stability of
families, neighborhoods, and our entire economy. Even if
your own home is not at risk of foreclosure, you are still
affected. Even if you have played by the rules and fulfilled
all of your obligations, a foreclosure in your neighborhood
will have an impact on the value of your home. This crisis
has not only hurt home values nationwide, it has also had a
dramatic effect on the credit Americans need to purchase
cars, pay tuition for kids going off to college, and grow
small businesses.

That is why my Administration has acted quickly to
address this crisis. My Making Home Affordable plan will
help up to nine million responsible families avoid
foreclosure by allowing certain homeowners with
mortgages from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac to refinance at
lower rates to make sure their homes remain affordable. It
gives lenders new incentives to modify subprime loans at
risk of default to prevent further foreclosures. It also keeps
mortgage rates low for millions of middle class families
looking for new mortgages so that they can save thousands
of dollars. I encourage you to read my full plan at
www.MakingHomeAffordable.gov. To assist homeowners,
we have established the HOPE Now hotline at 888-995-
HOPE.

This plan helps us end the crisis without rescuing
speculators, dishonest lenders, and those who bought
homes they knew they could not afford. The road ahead is
difficult, but if we move forward resolutely-with a
deepened appreciation for how fundamental the American
Dream is and how fragile it can be when we fail in our
collective responsibilities-then I am confident we will
overcome this crisis and once again secure that dream for
ourselves and future generations.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
President Obama is the son of God , Something UNACCEPTABLE to the Religious Right..

President Obama was created in the image of his son , Jesus Christ.
Something the Religious Right considers a LIE ...

President Obama is the son of a Bi-racial Couple...
Something That White Supremasists consider an ABOMINATION...

President Obama believes in helping his fellow man...
Something Republican conservatives consider SOCIALISM...

President Obama Believes in the power of DIPLOMACY...
Something Republican Neo-Con WAR CRIMINALS like "DICK" Cheney consider a waste of time...

But I say , THANK GOD that we have a President as intelligent , pragmatic , and charismatic as Barack Obama...

Otherwise we would be fighting world war three right now as our economy lay in the toilet...

So much for the Republican Agenda !...

Can anybody tell me what the Republican Party stands for besides...

OBSTRUCTIONISM , ANTAGONISM , RACISM , UNCONSTITUTIONISM ?...

And one GIANT OREO COOKIE ?...

If Obama is the ANTI-CHRIST...
Then I'll continue to be one of his foot soldiers....

So who wants to go to Hell with me ?...
