Talk about being wrong

Lately McCain has been yelling that Obama was wrong about opposing the surge. I don't agree with this premise, but for the sake of argument, let's say it's true. Well lets ask these questions.

Was McCain right about Iraq stockpiling WMDs?

Was McCain right about Iraq involvement in 9-11?

Was McCain right about our being welcomed as liberators?

Was McCain right about "Mission Accomplished"?

Was McCain right about the Iraq War impacting the fight in Afghanistan?

Was McCain right about the Iraq War becoming a quagmire?

Was McCain right about the Iraq War becoming a half-trillion dollar debt for our children to pay?

How many more matters regarding the Iraq War has McCain been wrong?

Exactly what Bush is ... a total failure

Speaker Pelosi called Bush a "total failure". That's really good news. That is exactly what Bush is ... a total failure. It's probably the best depiction of Bush since an aide to Canadian Prime Minister Cretien called Bush a "moron".

So what if the AP article's reporter seems indignant that Pelosi would do such a thing. When Clinton was President, he was the victim of abuse by right wing Congressmen on a daily basis. Was the AP ever indignant about that? The bias of AP became clear when its President told Karl Rove, the biggest felon to ever hold government office, to "hang in there".

Why the hell should Bush be treated with such high respect? Because he's a right wing ideologue, and Sean Hannity and other right wing ideologues will have their feelings hurt? Bush and his right wing ideologue cronies have done enough damage to our once great nation. To talk about them in blunt terms is the least we can do. To brand them as the criminals that they are ... is what we ought to do. To sit and be silent is what I will not do ... and you should not do either.

Those who placate right wing extremists

It's time for the voting public to know that they don't have to accept candidates who placate right wing extremists. The right wing has destroyed our once great country. They've trampled on our constitution. They've taken away our healthcare. They've mortgaged our future to wage a war in Iraq that has done nothing but bring more wealth to the oil barons.

It's time for the voting public to send a message to Washington that we no longer accept candidates who placate right wing extremists. Candidates like John McCain ... and candidates like Representative David Drier.

Four dollar a gallon gasoline? Why?

On June 6th, 2008 the average price of gasoline across the nation rose to $4 per gallon. “There’s nothing worse for our economy than surging energy prices at record highs,†said Mark Zandi, Chief Economist for Moodys.com. What do Jesse James and Big Oil have in common? Nothing if you believe the legends of Jesse James, who supposedly robbed from the rich and distributed his ill gotten gains to the poor. Big Oil robs from all of us and keeps the ill gotten gains for themselves.

The Aftermath

Real Clear Politics Electoral Map http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/maps/obama_vs_mccain/

Barack Obama 228 John McCain 190 Toss Up 120 Toss Up states at present: (2004 Result) Nevada (Bush) New Mexico (Bush) Colorado (Bush) Missouri (Bush) Wisconsin (Kerry) Michigan (Kerry) Indiana (Bush) Ohio (Bush) Maine (Kerry) West Virginia (Bush) Virginia (Bush) New Hampshire (Kerry) North Carolina (Bush) If the states voted according to the present forcast Obama would need to win four states won by John Kerry in 2004 to win the presidency: Wisconsin, Maine, Michigan and New Hampshire. The current polls have Obama ahead of McCain in several key states such as Ohio, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Iowa, California, New York. If Obama can maintain current lead in Ohio and Wisconsin and swing 12 electoral votes, he wins. Of course, there are those among us who will say that this is not possible. Time will tell.

A Call to the Conscience of Black Americans: Where Do We Go From Here 2008

"With all the struggle and all the achievements, we must face the fact, however, that the Negro still lives in the basement of the Great Society. He is still at the bottom, despite the few who have penetrated to slightly higher levels. Even where the door has been forced partially open mobility for the Negro is still sharply restricted. There is often no bottom at which to start, and when there is there's almost no room at the top. In consequence, Negores are still impoverished aliens in an affluent society. They are too poor even to rise with the society, too empoverished by the ages to be able to ascend by using their own resources. And the Negro did not do this himself; it was done to him."
Letter From Birmingham Jail by MLK

"Human progress never rolls in on wheels of inevitability; it comes through the tireless efforts of men willing to be co workers with God, and without this hard work, time itself becomes an ally of the forces of social stagnation. We must use time creatively, in the knowledge that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democray and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood. Now is the time to lift our national policy from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of human dignity." http://www.africa.upenn.edu/Articles_Gen/Letter_Birmingham.html

Lets Have a Re-Vote!

Even though it probably won't happen, in a way I wish there was a re-vote in Florida and Michigan with only Clinton and Obama on the ballot. Lets see how much support both candidates really have at this point knowing Giuliani and Edwards are out of the race and see if Clinton beats Obama by narrower or even larger margins. Does anyone really think at this point Obama would lose either primary by more than 15%?
