McCain is resorting to the Strong Man theory of history, arguing that his extreme suffering as a POW transformed him profoundly and gave him special strength. He claims that the fortitude he gained from his suffering makes him uniquely capable of implementing top-down change. The authoritarian change that McCain and his neocon allies want violates our core democratic values. He will make the Presidency more Imperial and he will make the country more imperialistic, as did Bush.

If Americans are offered a choice between two Strong Men, McCain will win with "Peace Through Strength." Obama can't win an argument about who will be the stronger authoritarian.

With everything that has been happening in the world of our Party this week and, with what is expected to happen tomorrow with Hillary and her campaign, I would like to ask that we all lay off the Hillary supporters in partybuilder as far as uniting and bringing them back goes. They need their time and space; let’s give them their time and space.

Let’s keep our focus on fighting McCain and whatever Chaos pundits are still left in here. We could also use more blogging on the U.S. Senate and House races remember those? Save the Senate and Cleaning House, partybuilders effort to get as many Democrats in those seats as we can.

I have no fear of Republicans coming to this site.  I welcome them. 

I will welcome the opportunity to commiserate with them their deplorable leader of the GOP.  I will empathize with them that their first choice didn't become their party's nominee.   I will encourage them to speak their own mind and thoughts...something their Party and websites don't allow. 

I will proudly refute any attacks with logic, reason and truth.  I will send hugs and prayers as their sons and daughters are brought home in caskets, just as ours.  I will cheer on their commitment to be involved in the political process and use their right to vote. 

I will fight side-by-side with them to protect our freedom of speech, even though their leaders have done everything possible to squelch that right.  I will shake their hand, look them straight in the eye, and thank them for loving this country enough to fight for their beliefs. 

And, then I'll give them a cup of joe, a slice of blueberry pie and have a long chat about healthcare for their family, losing their job and pension to an overseas factory, the rising price of milk and gas, foreclosure on their house, the billions of dollars going to Iraq when we have pot holes, falling bridges, failing levees and failing schools in America.  I will share their concerns, their fears, their tears.
