As the McCain/Palin campaign gets uglier, so do the crowds at their rallies. Stoked by what the Associated Press called "racially tinged" attacks on Barack Obama particularly from Sarah Palin, by Republican anger at Obama's surge toward victory, and probably by their own deep-seated bigotry, the crowds at McCain/Palin events have begun expressing their Obama hatred in increasingly disturbing terms.
As eyewitness Dana Milbank observes in the Washington Post, Palin's line of attack on Obama at an Oct. 6 rally in Clearwater, Florida, prompted one man to shout, "Kill him!" (a secret service investigation is currently underway in response to this incident, which is hardly good press for the campaign). Others at McCain/Palin events have shouted "treason" and even "terrorist!" at the mention of Obama's name, as the Huffington Post discusses in detail. At the Clearwater event, as Dana Milbank observes, Palin's media-bashing likewise produced a hateful response from the crowd, who turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse while others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial slur at an African American sound man and told him, "Sit down, boy" (see also ABC News).
Of course none of this looks good for the McCain/Palin campaign, which is coming increasingly to resemble a lynch mob.

Follow the money.
Interestingly the top recipient in FL and MI was John McCain even thouth the Democratic candidates recieved the most contributions with identical 51/49% margins. Obama raised the most in primaries lost to Clinton such as California, Texas and New York. To those that aregue Obama is winning only because of the 'Black vote' think again. And study more carefully his donor base. As the saying goes, "Money talks, BS walks".

"The Family" is an invisible association which has over the years consisted mostly of white men. Senators Don Nickles, Charles Grassley, Pete Domenici, John Ensign, James Inhofe, Bill Nelson and Conrad Burns are referred to as "members" as are Representatives Jim DeMint, Frank Wolf,Joseph Pitts, Zach Wamp, and Bart Stupak. Regular prayer groups have met at the Pentagon and at the Department of Defense, and the Family has traditionally fostered strong ties with businessmen in the oil and aeerospace industries. The Family maintains a closely guarded database of tis associates, but it issues no cards, collects no official dues. Members are asked not to speak about the group or its activities. The organization has operated under many guises, some active, some defunct: National Committee for Christian Leadership, International Christian Leadership, the National Leadership Council, the International Foundation. These groups are intended to draw attention away from the Family and to prevent if from becoming, in the words of one of its leaders, 'a target for misunderstanding'.
The key strategy of the Family is the 'Big Fix' and using the Wright Controversy as a distraction and tactical maneuver to usurp the Obama Pehnonmenon. Central to this is Family member Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida who in March of this year 'proposed an overhaul of U.S. presidential election laws saying the dispute over delegates in Florida and Michigan has exposed a flawed nominatimg system.' http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/03/27/nelson.voting/
Bill Nelson Continues His Assault on the Constitution http://deep.mastersfamily.org/2007-08-07/nelson-continues-assault/
Nelson has consistently cast votes hostile to the Constitution and with the Bush Administration. As Nelson panders to the Latino vote, overall Nelson has a weak record when it comes to immigration reform. This is not simply a 'bible study group' as some assert. It has a clear Right wing, neo conservative agenda and is working overtime to steal not only the Democratic Party nomination, but political control of the White House and every branch of government in the American body politic.
