I must admit to being once again dumb founded at the naïve assumption of the Democrats that Republicans are genuine when they talk bi-partisanship.
In the first place it was the Republicans who ended the notion of bi-partisanship during their reign of fiscal terror from 2001 through 2007 with the brief exception of a year and a half in which the Democrats were in the majority.
Republicans in the Senate regularly rammed bills through at behest of the Dick Cheney and the Republican hierarchy of special interest that were intent upon raiding the nation’s treasury for their own personal gain.
Never before in history has the United States spent so much and gone so far into debt not for the good of the American people we are in a war in Iraq which we did not need to fight that has cost us over 2 trillion dollars.
The reason I say over 2 trillion dollars is due to the Enron style financing of the war which Bush and Cheney brought to Washington the total cost will never be known.

The Big question is why doesn’t anyone have the guts to tell Dick Cheney to shut up?
I can’t believe he is still getting away with claiming that the Bush administration and Republicans kept us safe for 8 years.

To use a term which is actually an understatement “what hutsba” I guess in Dick Cheney’s mind they didn’t take office until September 12, 2001, well here’s a new flash Dick yours and the Republicans tenure from 2001 to yes even present.
September 11, 2001 – 2,974 dead – Terrorism
March 2003 to present – 4,299 dead Americans – Iraq War
March 2003 to present – 31,156 wounded Americans – Iraq War
The as yet unknown cost of the Bush administration’s failure to finish the job in Afghanistan which has allowed the Taliban to regroup, reorganize and recruit to greater numbers than before the Afghan war.
Persons like Dick Cheney and Rush Limbaugh talk big they talk brave and they talk as if they are on the front lines of defending America.
The truth is they are only brave precisely because someone else is doing the fighting and dying for America both Cheney and Limbaugh had an opportunity to defend America to show they were actually men and not the cowards we now know them to be.
In Cheney’s case a record five that’s right count them FIVE deferments from service at a time when his country truly needed him.

Orange and Jefferson County officials order mandatory storm evacuations

BEAUMONT, Texas -- Residents in areas ravaged by Hurricane Rita three years ago began fleeing Saturday ahead of what authorities said would be a mandatory evacuation order as Gustav strengthened into a powerful Category 4 storm.
Gov. Rick Perry, meanwhile, called on Texas to prepare for potentially 45,000 evacuees from Louisiana, where roads began clogging with traffic as a million people took to Gulf Coast highways.
Jefferson and Orange counties in Texas planned issuing an evacuation order at 6 a.m. Sunday, and officials urged people to pack up pets and 10 days worth of clothes and supplies in case Gustav delivered another Rita-like punch to the area.
The National Hurricane Center issued a hurricane watch Saturday stretching from east of High Island, located just south of Beaumont, to the Alabama-Florida border.

I am posting this because of an arrogant elitist twit that was upset about me asking people to be considerate of others use the extended post option and not clog the page with extremely lengthy post. Apparently this individual likes being rude and inconsiderate she loves attacking fellow Democrats. I won't name her since she is not that important just another nuisance.
