DCCCs 40 Seat Target List

"Last month, DCCC chair Chris Van Hollen outlined the essence of his 2008 strategy: go on offense against 40 or so Republican seats that they deemed vulnerable. Today Roll Call is reporting that Van Hollen has gotten more specific": Specifically writing off the South.   Read More »

Do you want to be roundly attacked, deprived of money, marginalized by your own party, starved of media time, attacked by Alan Greenspan, and told you’re ‘too uppity’ and ‘confrontational’ while Rome burns? Try being John Edwards for a day.

Sometimes us folks in the later primary states feel a little helpless during the early primaries...there is only so much we can do...send money, etc. But now, check this out!! This is great news to me...on the John Edwards website..under New Hampshire..one can now sign up to phone canvass. My cell phone has nationwide long distance (no extra charges) so I have signed up! http://www.johnedwardsphonebank.com/ Once validated, the online system gives you a phone number to call, the script and feedback forms right there at your fingertips. The instructions are very simple and I think anyone can do it..and as long as you have 'free long distance' on your land line or cell phone, there will be no cost to you at all, except your time. Take a stand, stand up for America, and do what you can to elect John Edwards as our next President. I have also made contact with SC, and they have emailed me spreadsheets with names and phone numbers for SC voters along with the script. If you would prefer to help out in SC, let me know and I can forward you a portion of the list they have sent to me. This is it guys..we are getting down to the wire! Let's get busy and elect John Edwards!!! Happy Holidays to all!! Tina
The clamor for the White House is on. Clinton, Romney, Obama, Thomson, Huckabee, McCain and a fountain of other well known Washington insiders, many steeped in years of cozy relationships, cloak and dagger histories of deal making and inside political trading, not focused on Americas well being, but aimed and purposed for the retention of power or extending ones influence. Political dynasties somehow permitted by the electorate to remain, in many cases, at the expense of Americas democratic health and vitality. We have permitted old money, old influence and all the political experience and seasoning it could buy to get us where we are today, drowning in two wars and a nine trillion dollar debt, trillion with a "T".   Read More »
RFLMAO...I cannot believe it..

During post debate discussion, Anderson Cooper just asked some of the 'wired undecided GOP voters' who held the hand 'meters' for applause, etc. during the Youtube debate if they had decided now who they would vote for...

the first response...

"Well, at this point if the Democrats elect him, I am voting for John Edwards.."

Yes, that is what she said..

John Edwards...yes, on a Republican debate...she is voting for John Edwards...wake up Democrats~
American public opinion regarding the state of the nation today, depending on who you are talking to, can range from -Could be better-, to -In dire straits-, or -On the brink of tyranny-. In any case, it is not usually good. What ever the case, there are plenty of reasons for the doom and gloom. Take your pick; from 9/11 to our having a President who has abandoned the Rule of Law and burdened future generations with incalculable debt. To most we, as a country, have lost our way. To others, finally the opportunity for America to strike her enemies came, real or perceived, and we took it.   Read More »
In todays N&O Under the Dome section there was two interesting, but separate stories about the activities of two Democratic Congressmen, Heath Shuler and David Price.

Now dont get me wrong, I am not denigrating one, or the other, but it was interesting to see where the priorities of each were relative to the interest each devoted their time to this week. I am an analyst by profession, so maybe I tend to see more than is actually there. Or do I?   Read More »
Politics in America has always been a -them- and -Us- sort of event. We have so many different outlooks and avenues of expression and thought. Political philosophy, social engagement, citizen responsibility to government, as opposed to government obligation to its citizens, political correctness and how it effects our societal morays and values is today, as always, wonderfully debated and the list goes on; yet somehow those differences have helped to make us the great people we are, which has in turn forged the social Democratic miracle America still is today.

Opposing thought and spectrums, with a shared love of county, liberty, freedom and rule of law have been the hallmark of American political discourse. We all love this county and our opposing thoughts, with few exceptions, have never really challenged that principle.   Read More »
the truth...which is most unusual for a candidate for any office and of any party...if Hillary and Obama and Biden were really serious about ending the war...they would cut the funding. They are not...they just want your vote.

So, just in case you guys missed it...here is your next President of the United States of America!

someone over on JRE's blog made an excellent post recently...it poses a question we should all ask...

do you know how your ira, mutual fund or 401k is really invested?

Link

I googled my IRA mutual fund...and I am literally sick to my stomach..Walmart...Exxon and Halliburton...

Let's get serious...I am calling my financial advisor tomorrow...
Take a few minutes and read this great article from Rollingstone.

perhaps you missed the opportunity afterwards to hear John Edwards continue to answer questions on very important issues that were not discussed during the live debate.
