I started out this election cycle an avid supporter of Joe Biden. I remember feeling awful when he didn't do as well as I had hoped and expected in Iowa. It took me a lot of time to move on after he dropped out of the race. That said, I can't imagine how those who support Hillary Clinton are feeling right now. I know that a lot of people want her to continue, and I see no harm in her staying in the race through the third of June as long as her tone is positive. I hope that she does all that she can to help bring her supporters on board with Barack Obama, because our country, our citizens and our Military will continue to suffer greatly under a McCain Administration.

I haven't posted here in awhile, so, maybe I'll tell you all a little bit about myself and my family. My husband is a Medic in the Army. He's currently serving his second 15 month tour in Iraq. We have four little kids, ages 8, 6, 4 and 2. I love America, and my husband does too. However, we do NOT love what America has become over the past 8 years.

Because of this, it pains me greatly to see any animosity between Democrats that support Hillary Clinton and those that support Barack Obama. I know that this has been a, shall I say, vigorous campaign. Especially the last few months. The media has been ferociously spinning and promoting divisiveness between us by beating to death stories that are negative towards both Clinton and Obama. It's good for their ratings. Anything that might smell slightly of scandal or at the least strife is leaped upon by hungry news organizations like a three year old dives into his birthday gifts or a chocolate Sundae.

For those of you that are feeling anger, bitterness, or just apathy towards either Obama or Clinton, I am asking you as a person who has sacrificed personally for this country over the last 6 years to please, just go and look at the faces of the men and women who have been killed in Iraq. Look at the condition of our Army barracks, look at what happened at Walter Reed Hospital. Please, give yourselves a gut check. Think about what it would be like for you or for your kids to be separated from a loved one for 15 months. Not knowing day to day if they are safe or not. If the war is not your number one issue anymore, please think about what the financial cost of it is doing to our economy. In the end, we are all Americans, and I think that we all love this country and want it to be great again.

If I've offended anyone, I'm sorry. I don't mean to. I am not as eloquent as I would like to be, but I do love America, and I want more than anything to see this country rise up and regain her standing in the World.

With this blog the 100,000 point level has been broken, and even though the points do not covert to cash they do show how much work you can do. If I the dial up boy can top 100,000 point level in six months then I know everyone else can do it too, so the more all of you use this website the more our right to freedom of speech is exercised. Please contribute your efforts as much as possible here, and rock n’ roll this country back to a democracy that we can all be truly proud to say is the best.

From my understanding there is a need for poll watchers needed for the polls on 02-05-08, and if you are interested you need to contact either me to pass it on to the person that got me into it here in Missouri, or you should contact someone locally ASAP. I do not know which states are in need of poll watchers, or exactly which polling places need them, but I will post a list of states below that are voting on 02-05-08.

Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Utah

This morning the Washington Post (and several other repeating news outlets) has shocked me into fully awakened disgust. Yet another report is out on the dismal treatment of soldiers by the current mis-administration.

I'm struck by this piece because it notes deplorable changes in a measurement that started in 1980; that's the year I enlisted. I retired in 2006, and it is becoming an almost daily event to see how badly my former comrades-in-arms are being abused.

Today the issue is suicide. The thought of rising numbers of soldiers taking their own lives after serving in combat because of poor and inadequate medical treatment at home is devastating. A "1-800" line for redeployed soldiers to seek psychological counseling...pathetic.

The knot in my gut is yet more proof the America needs a change. The legacy of the current occupant of the White House must be in the form of an eraser. What he has wrought on the US military by conducting a needless war "on the cheap" cannot continue past November.

The next Democratic President-Elect must lay a clear roadmap for erasing the coWH's endless war and un-ending occupation of Iraq. The remaining GOP Presidential caandidates are delusional in making any comment that says otherwise. Any Congressional candidate hinting at continuing the coWH's policies must be defeated.

Just look back over the last twenty years there has never been a single month with deflation, and millions of Americans do not make a penny more in wages really.

In these last hours of the New Hampshire primary I have realized that since Sen. Biden has dropped out of the race I have yet to give a definite explanation of why I am supporting Sen. Clinton. Since I’m kind of bored at work I think I’ll do that now.

Over the past few days I have been forming my arguments for the question “Why do I support Sen. Clinton.” The basic answer was clear, I support her because I feel she is the best option that we have and will do the most to make our country and the world a better place. The question was never who I would support or why, I just needed to be more informed so that I could better articulate my arguments against the Anti-Clinton hate mongers. So with that in mind I began a massive research effort that was composed of intense study of her web site and lengthy email conversations with other vocal Clinton supporters on this blog and other.

I believe that I have established a fairly sturdy foundation, built of my beliefs in Sen. Clinton’s platform as well as political history and personal character.

First off I have to say that I am disgusted by the amount of anti-Hillary sentiments found on this site. Its like the most blasé news stories are reported on how things like the Senator’s campaign worker having McDonalds for lunch is spun into stupid garbage like: “Hillary is an evil B**** who does not recognize that the US has an obesity problem and as such she hates children and should not be president.” I mean come on people have some common sense as well courtesy. Yesterday Sen. Clinton showed some emotion on how she felt about this country as well as this campaign she got a little choked up. This has been spun into hateful garbage about how she’s weak and can’t handle the toils of the oval. This appalls me.

Most of this hate is sexism and has no place in the 21st century United States. I have first hand experience with people who dislike Hillary because she’s a woman. My roommate last semester was a, shall I say, paper Democrat. He would always assure that he was a registered Democrat but then when he’d talk about issues it was straight Republican argument (this needless to say annoyed me). During one of the debates this past year he was in the room and Hillary was giving an answer, she totally rocked; following her response I asked what he though, his response was that he didn’t know because he had Bi*** in his ear. This point of view was not limited to Sen. Clinton. I’m a C-SPAN junkie and on numerous occasions when he was in the room while Pelosi was speaking he’d make the same protest, “I’ve got b**** in my ear.” He’s a nice guy and all but this is inexcusable, this is a direct reflection of the sexist mindset that still has a hold over the men and some of the women in the United States (McCain event anyone…)

As she has said on many occasions (though it probably should have more emphasis) this is that last and thickest and highest ceiling and Hillary plans to break it, and by God I plan to help.

Ok so that was my little rant on hate comment; now to my support.

I work for the state of Louisiana (I’m a student so I can be involved in politics) at the Department of Insurance, specifically in the office of Health Insurance. This experience has given me an insight into the nightmares of the healthcare industry that few others have. I get call on a daily basis from people who have been hoodwinked by their healthcare provider or can’t afford their medication or have problems with their Medicare. Healthcare has thus become one of the key issues for me not only in this race but also for the government as a whole. I support Sen. Clinton’s plan and the fact that she has fought for this issue for years now. I’m not going to describe every single plan and policy that she has but I support each and every one of you to visit her web site and find out more details.

The war in Iraq is a big issue to me, but I still feel that the Biden plan is the best policy for ending the war. As such I think that whoever gets elected from the Democratic side will end up adopting it or a modified version of it, so I’m not that worried.

Hillary’s support for LGBT issues is comforting to me. I have received many people’s thoughts on why I should support Hillary because of a single issues; I’m gay. I have to say though I am not a single issue voter and if I was this would not be the issue (it probably should be because it deals with my freedom but I get more passionate about things like healthcare and the economy, so it’s an issue but doesn’t fall on the top). Hillary has been a long time supporter of lgbt rights and has fought tirelessly for them; this sits well with me and strengthens my support for her. I’d also like to point out that fighting for the rights of children, Hispanics, the mentally ill and the homeless is more important to me than her fight for the gay community. Why? Because of politics (and the fact that I care more about other people than myself, I’m not kidding I’m weird like that). LGBT issues gain a lot of political coverage where as these other groups do not. She showed us yesterday that she cares about her country and her record shows the same thing.

There are numerous other issues but this is just a quick little synopsis of my support.

If you’re in New Hampshire and haven’t gone to vote yet for one reason or the other and you’re in the fence of who to support, I hope that my little talk has swayed you towards Sen. Clinton. If not that’s ok to; go vote your conscious and heart and fulfill your constitutionally given right of voting. DEMOCRACY ROCKS!!!!

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton is the best choice for America and I am proud to support her.

Clinton 08!!!!

Ok so as I hope most of you know by now I attend LSU and live in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Our football team just won the BCS National Championship!!!!A 21-point second quarter triggered the second-ranked Tigers' 38-24 win against top-ranked Ohio State in the Louisiana Superdome. I'd just like to say yay us.And I'm happy but I'll be happier tomorrow when Hillary kicks some major ass in NH. Yeah I'm a dork and the worst fan ever.

 Clinton 08!!!

Ok it’s been 4 days since Iowa caucused and Sen. Biden dropped out of the race. Since that time I have posted different farewell messages on Party Builder, MySpace, Face book, Sen. Biden’s web site, and all the news websites that I blog on; not to mention I sent an emotional letter to the Senator’s Washington Office. After all of this I still tear up when I read something that commemorates the Senator’s campaign, I just get that really emotional feeling that you hear war widows describe when they visit memorial sites.

Today the Huffington Post ran an article written by one of the Senator’s former speech writers. I almost balled when I read this.

Truly believed that Senator Biden was the best person to be President of the United States. I wanted to work for him, not just because it was a job, which was important, but because I believed in the cause.

Four days of traveling with Joe Biden were enough to exhaust me for a week, but he did not have the luxury of exhaustion. He was competing. He kept going, for months.

So I looked beyond the hype and went to the best candidate, and I was proud to work for Joe.

When I would go to an event and watch the Senator speak, I would be absolutely enthralled. Here was a politician who really knew his stuff; he wasn't following the other candidates on Iraq, he was leading them.

Ok because I’d probably end up posting the entire article here’s the link.

Biden for President

Even though his campaign has ended his message is not forgotten Biden influenced the conversation of this presidential election and the reverberations of his participation will be felt for some time to come.

Ok during the course of this debate we have seen how the Republicans go at each other with daggers in argument.

Even though we've had times when our candidates disagreed with one another I am proud to say that it was not the mud throwing fight that we saw from the Republicans.

Here's to all of you for keeping civility and thank you Richardson for pointing that out.

Ok so Richardson in his response to the Iraq question basically endorsed the Biden plan and said the same thing Biden said back in May when he introduced the plan. (Yeah I'm still harping and can't let go).

Excellent job tonight Sen. Clinton enjoyed several of your answers.

Clinton 08!!!
I just love how when Republicans get together they debate over which one of them supports the war the most and which one of them supported it first.

Ron Paul makes me smile...

Clinton 08!!!

I am currently in a state of devastation as my top candidate has withdrawn himself from the race. This follows his results from tonight in the Iowa caucuses, where he won less than 1 percentage point of the vote. I don’t like to make excuses for things so I will leave it at that and pick myself up and go on with life.

I’d just for a minute like to pay tribute to Sen. Joe Biden who is a leader of the kind of caliber that America has not know in quite some time. One of my primary concerns entering this campaign season was that the rift between the two America’s had grown so large that I feared it could not be healed. Americans had forgotten how to participate in intellectual discussion about politics without the conversation turning disgustingly nasty. I felt that Sen. Biden was the ointment that could heal this wound, I saw him as a candidate that both Democrats and Republicans could rally behind. Sadly this will not happen.

Sen. Biden has a long personal story that is heart wrenching and warming at the same time; I will not go into detail about it but I will give the best recommendations to “Promises to Keep”, Biden’s campaign biography. As you should all be aware from me constantly saying it, Biden is the chair of the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee and as such has more foreign policy experience than all of the other candidates combined and I feel he would have guided the country in a path that was good for our standing in the world.

Joe has inspired me over that past month as he has participated in a brutal campaign agenda that would kill someone half Obama’s age.

While I am saddened by his decision to pull out (and I sure as hell don’t agree with it) it was his decision and his alone and I support him. Over the course of his career Senator Biden has taught us all what it means to be a true “public servant” by truly serving his constituency and the nation. I believed that I had found with Senator Biden something that I had been looking for, for a long time now, and that is a candidate that I could have 100% confidence in and support to the hilt. Sadly as life teaches us things that are too good to be true often aren’t and while Biden was the real deal his candidacy has come to an end and that is truly a loss for the country which we all call home.

I thank the Senator and his family who have worked tirelessly on this campaign winning voters across the nation. I myself am from a Southern state where I am one of maybe 5 people who know who he is. In this first part of the campaign process I have given the Senator several hundred dollars, which is a lot for a poor starving college student LOL, and I am happy to say that as of 7:05 this morning the campaign’s media fund which started up just a short time ago reached $833,690 and I am proud to say that I contributed to that total.

Biden is truly one of the great leaders of this country and I hope he remains in the public specter for years and years to come. I will say now that I will now be supporting Sen. Clinton in her bid for the party’s nomination.

Again I thank Sen. Biden for inspiring people like me to have a renewed faith in the state of the world as well as in the political process. You will truly be missed from this race.

For old time’s sake:
