Standing tall with Barack Obama I pray our man of the people will get elected to bring all Americans back to the fore front of economic stability. I've shared Obama's message with many business aquaintances and friends, where and when appropriate, to present my support for Senator Obama. I'v spread blog postings touting the Obama message throughout the web. I've even been placing my words of praise for Obama on some conservative sites, doing so in hopes of reaching even one additional voter, sometimes receiving hatemail in return. I've written to those who may not even be registered voters in hopes they'll care about this election for they should. I've also written to those I know living in swing states whom might be persuaded to Vote the Obama-Biden ticket and I am not finished yet.
The Revolution is NOW! The time for action is NOW! And as 60's poet and musical artist Gil Scott Heron so aptly conveyed, the revolution is happening now and it will not be televised. The revolution is in my heart and mind and I urge each of you to move this forward at a period in our history where we can not afford to give way to more
government by and for big business. If you have not already, please join the revolution! We have much work to do. And please pray for the 12,000 former employees of Lehman Bros that they may whether the storm...

Dear Barack Obama,
The jobless rate went up yesterday to 6.1% nationally with a loss of 84,000 jobs... Here in California that number is even higher on the whole. Los Angeles for example has an 8.1% unemployment rate and the state is at 7.1%. People are loosing their homes. I sympathize cause I've already lost mine and my wife and I are coming out of bankruptcy.
I watch all the news stations and saw you somewhere out in what appeared to be western Pennsylvania talking about the poor jobs report...What I didn't see was a follow-up in that same excerpt, that same couple of sentences, about how you are going to put America back to work. Please tell us. We want to believe!
As you well know this election is close. It might very well be won on 'sound bites' that those not so close to the news cycle will be following... You must be tired, you look tired...I know I would be if I were you but we've got less than 60 days to win this election. I believe in you and what your team will do to take this country back for the people and what you and your team will do to unite the electorate. Please find the strength within and the energy to get more aggressive on the economy. I grew up in the Pennsylvania Dutch country and lived in the suburbs outside Detroit Michigan as well, two key battleground areas. The people want to believe. You are the candidate of hope and change! Please hit the eonomy harder and lead us all back to greater prosperity.
Sincerely,
A concerned American and a strong believer in you

If you saw John McCain's speech you like I heard no mention of economic policies to bring jobs back to this great nation, no real health-care reform for those with skyrocketing costs or perhaps as with many friends of mine, no health-care insurance period. He did talk about removing barriers for Corporations doing business in the US, no trade restrictions for business(which will result in more lost jobs as McCain would push for the South American Free Trade Agreement to be put into law), privitization of Social Security, elimination of Unemployment Insurance as we know it (eluding to the unemployed being given menial jobs before paying them the unemployment money they themselves paid into the fund)and a drill drill drill rhetoric.
The latest McCain campaign strategy is to paint the Obama-Biden ticket as being "on the fringe". We must, each of us refocus this election on the economy and other issues at hand! I urge each of you to reach out and write to a friend in a battleground or red state letting them know the facts. Let's put Amercia back to work and restore our standing of prestige in the world order!

I've watched all the RNC attack dogs speak this evening during the Republican Convention. After Sarah Palin's speech energizing their base with vicious attacks on Barack Obama, the smear and several factual inacuracies have been duly noted. 'Sarah the Barracuda' as she was known in high school, has bitten us all and this deed will not be forgotten!
Sarah Palin was FOR the 'Bridge to Nowhere' before Congress told her state, Alaska would have to pay for the project. As Mayor, Sarah Palin hired a consultant to bring earmarks to her city when she's publicly claimed to be against earmarks. Sara Palin has not even traveled outside the US until last year and she managed to leave office with the city of Wasilla in debt (perhaps better spoken of as an 8,000-10,000 person town rather than city). I've even heard she attempted to fire a librarian who refused to ban some books at the library not to mention the current 'trooper gate' scandal. And not to mention, I haven't even touched on her far right Creationist views including no sex education whatsoever in the class room other than abstinence. It resulted in her 17 year old having a child out of wedlock so like it or not it's news.
What we as Democrats truly can benefit from is to get Sarah Palin in front of a camera speaking her true views in an unscripted atmosphere. She was scheduled to appear on Larry King Live but the McCain campaign canceled her appearance for fear of this very thing.
The time has come to step into the ring. There is no room for error. We must keep our attacks to arguments that make sense to swing voters, independents and Republicans on the fence. I'd like you to remember one thing and that's McCain and Palin = MP and that spells Military Police which is not good for my America!

During Gustav and possibly as Hannah follows we're at a Crossroads. How do our candidates look Presidential while not appearing to politicize the situation? How do we as not only Democrats but as Americans help those in need during this time? How do we as Democrats counter the RNC and the tone of their convention? Our future as a nation is in peril under a McCain-Palin ticket. I pray for the safety of all Americans and for our candidates to be given wisdom to make the right decisions during these trying times. I'll be gathering my attack material and holding it close to the vest till the storm passes. God bless the USA!
After witnessing an incredible convention we must now retire to the War Room and strategize! The RNC know that their convention couldn't come close so McCain will probably give his acceptance speech from the gulf coast region to appear Presidential. We must counteract the effects... If Barack Obama rolls up his sleeves and arrives in the region it might help but seeing a mulitude of Obama T-shirt wearing volunteers pitching in feeding those in the path of the storm and rebuilding the area is our best offense and our defense. Obama contributing personal funds could steal some RNC thunder as well. Now is the time to think smart and react swiftly and decisively.
We must use our response to their convention to praise their concern for the country and more so our party's action during this disaster. We must appear as the party of action and they of talk. The convention itself is a moot point.
McCain's age must be addressed indirectly and not by the campaign itself. We need to come out with both barrels blazing yet utilizing a silencer. Sara Palin's extreme right wing views must be addressed indirectly a as well and not by the campaign itself.
Remember the hare is quick and experienced, exuding confidence. It is the tortoise though that takes the time to think through the task at hand, moves forward continually, exudes patience and inner calm. Displaying a keen sense of awareness, it is he who wins the race.

Democrats come in all sizes and shapes, we like different types of foods and hold jobs and social standing in all sectors of society. As a Democrat there is one truth I hold in my heart and that is to use the party to better the plight of mankind, starting right here in the USA! And I think we can agree that as Democrats we believe that all the people should be heard, not just those in the highest points of industry or those whose choice of religion or sexual orientation we agree with. And I believe that being a Democrat is not about filling your pockets with gold but to be able to look yourself in the mirror each and every morning with pride cause you believe in a better world for all people and you're ready to do something about it! What is being a Democrat mean to you?
What is Change We Can Believe in? Just a thought to ponder...
I received an email today that was supposedly written in humor touting the beefeating providers as Conservatives and the weak as Liberals. The email which was written as a humorous tribute to the chest beating right dragging their women across the floor and spouting 'we're the choosen ones' was built on three concepts. 1) The first one is that all liberals are weak and will gladly lay down for those on the other side to walk on, 2)that being creative and in possession of a creative mind is a weakness and 3)and this third one is implied but states that all Democrats are liberal.
I was watching cable the other day and Henry Rollins, a punk rock music artist with a power lifters body, who by the way, is also a poet and actor was the host. Rollins was the first and only television host I've seen who actually voiced that he was a liberal and ready to kick some ass as opposed to laying on the highway awaiting tire tracks. What a concept I thought, liberals who are not afraid to stand up and be counted, use a firm handshake and look down the barrel of a conservative's gun with one that has a bigger barrel!
Secondly, the right's conservative Corporate generals are for the most part working only to put great wealth in their own pockets and more mindless consumers on the street. The creative community for the most part are creating "thinkers". "Thinkers" consume but not without reading the label.
Thirdly, as you know all Democrats are not liberal and that's what makes the world a great place cause we need a balance of ideas from all sides to keep America great. Of course some Dems aren't really Democrats but virtual wolves in sheeps clothing and yes, I am speaking about Joe Liberman but that's another subject altogether.
In closing, I say stand up and be counted, stay true to your heart and we'll see a sea of blue in November!

In my haste to the battle front I included www.netrootsnation.org to my list of blog sites for you to explore. It is a good one to visit but is not on the right and I stand corrected by myself, before someone else does. Thanks.
Attention all scribes with an Obamistic diatribe or perhaps just a blue hue to deliver! I've compiled a short list of right-wing destinations on the blogsphere where you can sign on and blog to your hearts content on topical issues, namely politics. The time has come to beat the reds at their own game by posting articles that are slanted positively toward Barack Obama. Operating with finese will place doubt in the minds of those reading the propoganda these sites spew forth... To achieve our goal we must not slam the other side nor rant but must explore and dissect political issues of economic and social importance slanting the writings ever so slightly...well maybe a little more than slightly but you get the point. Several of the sites you might consider exploring for purposes of exploitation include; www.redstate.com, www.thenextright.com, www.rightonline.com, www.realclearpolitics.com, www.netrootsnation.org. Happy hunting!
I've been away at the Comic-Con conference in San Diego for a week or so...Several hundred thousand people were in attendance, actual numbers are still in debate but it's safe to say there were at the very least 125,000 attendees present (last years numbers) attending special film and television screenings, an indie film festival, panels, workshops, an impressive tradeshow and an area dubbed Artists Alley, where artists and writers promote their work and exchange ideas with the public. Comic-Con or "the Con" as it is effectionately known to long time attendees is no longer driven by a focus on Comics but has become a "pop culture" event and the organizers touted it as such. The change in the event seems to be happening just as there is change happening with society in general. With the Con switching gears from a focus on Comic book superheroes of fantasy to a focus on action and individuals taking action as seen in upcoming films, television and gaming industry product, a movement in the focus of the social fabric of society was evident. This shift in focus can also be seen as a shift from a society that is being taken care of by a benevolent corporate hero or in some instances an institution itself to individuals standing strong and making a difference. This climate change in society is setting the scene for new policies, a new approach to government and a new type of politician, perhaps making our jobs a bit easier. That being said, the forests have been cleared and paved but we as a party must not sit arrogantly idle as though we're waiting for a deserved moment in the sun. The time for action by average Americans to take the country back is NOW! So I call on all who read this to speak out and move our candidates and party forward, move the issues that you're passionate about to the forefront because each and everyone of you reading this are the true action heroes of our story. By the way, I am also happy to report that Obama volunteers were out in force registering voters and handing out stickers etc.
On the surface it may appear rather unusual that the Wayne Pacelle, chief executive of the Humane Society of the United States, finds something to admire about the NRA... One group supports hunting animals for sport and the other protects animals from sport hunters.
As the L.A. Times recently reported, Head of the Humane Society Wayne Pacelle admires their "brute strength". After all there are many other gun rights groups but none with power of the NRA. Since Wayne Pacelle took the reigns of the Humane Society it's assets have nearly doubled to nearly $207 million. "Our movement needs an NRA-type organization to get the job done," Pacelle said. "There are lots of gun rights groups, but the one that you hear about and the one that is feared is the NRA." The Humane Society is now the largest and richest among hundreds of nonprofit animal advocacy membership organizations in the country. "Before Wayne took over, you never heard of anything that HSUS was doing that was proactive," said Jane Garrison, a longtime animal welfare activist from Redondo Beach. "Since Wayne has taken over, it's an extremely proactive group."
The NRA is an organization that is feared. Pacelle says, "I'd rather be loved - and feared." The Obama campaign, our party and our country need to be loved and not feared but respected. Bush has already wielded a big stick with Cheney playing the fear card...The past 8 years I've often heard the message you better love america, embrace our ways our fear our rath. And the Bush philosophy goes back to the days of imminent domain when the US sent settlers across the plains to settle once peaceful indian lands in a sea of blood. It seems the past often repeats itself...
What can the Obama campaign, our party and our country learn from all this? We must strike a balance between a proactive campaign of hope for all americans without laying down for those who would leave tire tracks across our backs. We must stand up and share a love for all and secure a place at the table once more in a world in pain without giving ground to the forces that would create turmoil for no reason other than "just to see the city burn", a line Alfred spoke in the recent Batman flick that echoes in my brain.
The Humane Society, has moved from a mild-mannered protector of dogs and cats into an aggressive group flexing it's muscle on behalf of all animals. We must decide how to walk the beam of balance as stalwart keepers of the flame, embracing our ideals while determining sensible action that will proactively bring truth and healing to the public arena. As we bring truths to the light disonant voices of the other side will be uncovered for what they are and this shall be there own undoing.

Yesterday I wrote only a few sentences on my Party Builder page blog located on the Democrats.org site. I'd been suffering from low energy and a long day... I didn't even post the entry on any group community blogs. Feeling smug that what I wrote was a clever double entendre to get folks to think about keeping our oceans blue while turning the halls of congress that very same hue...I never expected to receive a comment. Someone claiming to be an Independent replied which I first found rather interesting since I had been writing on the Democratic Party site, Party Builder. By the tone of the response my writings had either been misunderstood or possibly I was the victim of an attempted verbal mugging from someone on the other side. Either way the diatribe that followed really did spur new ideas into this cranium of mine. The writer went on about the surrender of our sovereignty as a nation to the UN topped off with something about America holding each individual nation hostage under it. The exact words are posted on my Party Builder page. This I found baffling as well.
The outcome was an affirmation of my faith that we are moving the blue machine forward and that we will elect Barack Obama as well as a Democratic Congress in November. And secondly an affirmation that the current administration has decidely scared this nation in the eyes of the world. Under the current administration, the American government has become arrogant and in some cases leaning toward the totalitarian regimes we so despise in it's decisions. It truly is time for a change. We must change for the course we are on will lead us down a road we need not travel. And regarding the UN, we actually need it more than it needs us,for an opportunity to silence the ramblings and cowboy justice we've spewn forth the last couple of years and to bring America back into the fold as a respected and carring nation as it had been known in years past. The time has come for "Change We Can Believe In".

A government for the people and by the people, it's as simple as that. Each day I attempt to put together an entry worthy of posting. Today my energy is low,and my fighting spirit is hanging in the balance but my support for the party, my determination to turn this planet blue in more ways than one will not waver! To be a good steward of the planet and all it's inhabitants is good business and makes political sense. Voting blue will keep our oceans blue. -Nick Danger
I wrote a post back on July 9th entitled "The Pen is Mightier than the Sword, Except When the other Guy has got a Gun". In it I spoke of a site I've posted blogs on where I seem to be 'one of', if not the only, blue banner waving Democratic foot soldier. First of all I shared the wrong address. The correct site address is; www.realclearpolitics.com (that's Real Clear Politics not Real Politics). To emphasize the importance of this site, it is an arm of Time magazine.
Yesterday I linked a post entitled "Red, White and the deepest Blue" which was pro-Obama and received a myriad of angry red responses.
By the way, linking a post is easy if you set up a Blog Spot account for your Democrat leaning words then go to www.realclearpolitics.com and give em' hell!

I'm an Obama man. I may not agree with his stand on every issue but the bottom line is that McCain has been in Washington for about 26 years and he hasn't done anything to change the system. He'll use fear tactics to pass new laws in the name of protecting the citizenry, his advisors are big business gurus and when it comes to economics his motto is to let water seek it's own level. That's a great way to do business if your chess piece is already well situated on the board... He'll shrink the middle class and dissolve their social programs to show he's taking a stab at reducing the budget while building the military further. Remember that next time you're shopping for overpriced eggs but hey, don't take my word for it. Do your homework...There's going to be a test in November. I'm an Obama man... I stand with and for a stronger ideal and that's how I'll vote. -Nick Danger
We've heard and seen so many creative nomenclatures from left leaning bloggers for the right wing presumptive nominee, who claims he's really independent though he usually votes conservative, and as late has all toes at the party line, Republican John McCain i.e. McLame, McDisdane, Mcshame, Mcflame, Mcsnooze, Mcboosh, just plain McBush etc. to name a few and well, that's just the tip of the iceberg. We're talkin' about an ice flow with more power than a major league pitchers' flaming fastball. That's all well and good for those who hold the blue banner dear to their hearts but what about the issues. How does the blue team talk some of those folks that are quite so bloody red into moving into rainbow territory and pullin' the big blue lever in November? What are the differences. Is there a great divide? So many questions, so little answers, so much hearsay and so many fractions of the facts to be de-slimed. That's mainly the red machine throwing it all at the man in blue so he's constantly attempting a deflection strategy rather than stepping up to tout his own plans for putting this country back to work, keeping us safe and repairing the damage done by an administration that has more in common with the Kremlin than the American people.
Recently the mainstream media has been touting Obama's move to the middle as an effort to appease those on the fence and McCain's saber rattling that he's already the man in the middle so we should take notice of him. Mainstream media has been dancing around the issues, giving us little or no facts, telling us the two men have similar views...I don't think so, but don't take it from me, go to both candidates websites and read about their positions and then read some more. Problem is folks want to be told, they don't want to dig and discover unless it's about entertainment and juicy gossip. We're teaching those bad habits to our young via the big square box in your living room. However that's a separate subject in and of itself, deserving of space in another blog at another time. You're not like that anyhow cause you've taken the time to read this far. You're a comparison shopper and you want the facts.
Now I see some distinct differences in the two men. Let's take the issue of Social Security for example. Last week McCain showcased his ideas for the economy. When asked by a young woman at a Denver town hall meeting early last week how to make Social Security viable for her generation, McCain said she could not rely on the system "unless we fix it". Fair enough but he followed that with the following; "We are paying present-day retirees with the taxes paid by young workers in America today, and that's a disgrace. It's an absolute disgrace, and it's got to be fixed." His comments seemed to suggest he favored a funding mechanism for Social Security benefits, such as private accounts. Later on CNN, as reported in the L.A. Times, McCain seemed to fully embrace the idea of private accounts. "I want young workers to be able to, if they choose, to take part of their own money, which is their taxes, and put it in an account which has their name on it" he said. Participation would be a "voluntary thing," and "would not affect any present-day retirees or the system as necessary." Now we've got a real problem because the system since it's creation in the 1930s relies heavily on payroll taxes from current workers to fund benefits for current retirees. Seems that will leave the retirees without any money for Social Security. His timing was odd as well endorsing a new reliance on the stock market the week that the Jones industrial average dipped to its lowest point in two years. With the George W Bush Social Security privatization debacle fresh in the minds of many Americans, especially Seniors, it appears this just might give certain blue groups an opportunity to flank the opposition. If that's not enough try comparing the two men on women's issues. -Nick Danger

This post is a 'heads up' call to arms! Been posting pro Obama blogs on Real Politics website. They have a reader article section. Reader articles must get 8 or more hits to be considered for the main page...The problem is that 90% of the articles are from the Red Machine and anti-Obama. Many are inflammatory and untrue. Sign up for free and post your blog links at www.realpolitics.com The site is a division of Time Magazine. And always remember that; The pen is mightier than the sword except when the other guy has a gun!

For some, when you lay out a welcome matt they think it's an invitation to walk right over you and that's the strategy of the big red machine! Never before has a whisper campaign been created with such a prominent undercurrent than this year. It's all over the net. Somehow the misinformation and just plain lies have even made their way to my inbox from unwitting relatives and friends forwarding emails. Some of the claims are so ridiculous they're almost believable cause they're too far fetched to be made up! Some on our side laugh, but the Red Machine are hoping for just that as they secretly plot for a slight fragmentation of the Obama confederation to whittle away at his lead. And in those who are looking for an excuse not to vote for a man with a unique name and who is also of African American heritage, no counter measures will ever change the doubt in their minds. But others are not beyond reproach and the blue counter insurgency can, should and must reach out to them.
As Obama supporters we've rallied behind our candidate and are fighting the disinformation and lies. Following the last Presidential election we're ready for the challenge. However, we must remember that the other side are infectious termites and as such eat away at our foundation. I learned long ago that as with termites it's not a question of; "Is this house infected?" but how badly is it infected. Therefore we must not rest for the enemy never sleeps.
And aiding in their campaign to dissenfranchise Democratic voters and Republicans leaning blue on the net, Fox has begun a dissinformation campaign of it's own. A few of their 'Oops, sorry' but now the seed is planted gaffs have included, a paid FOX commentator accidentally confuseing "Obama" with "Osama" and then joking on the air about killing Obama, a FOX anchor saying a playful fist pound by Barack and Michelle Obama could be a "terrorist fist jab." And lastly (for the moment) on air talent calling Michelle Obama "Obama's baby mama" which is ghetto slang used to describe the unmarried mother of a man's child.
If we hope to keep this a campaign of issues and not insinuations we must all stand vigilant and active. Exercising your right to vote is not enough when the stakes are this high. Tell a friend to tell a friend and help light the fire of change and seat our man in Washington!
