CLINTON EDWARDS SIDESTEP ON CIVIL UNIONS WHILE BARACKOBAMA STAYS CONSISTENT Here you can read the actual statements of these three candidates given to HRC. Clinton Edwards both say only those in "long term relationships" should be given the rights to civil unions! Why do they say these words? So they will have a LOOPHOLE when it comes to actual voting on the topic of civil unions for gays lesbians bisexuals and transgender TO ALL WHO GET THIS MAKE SURE YOU READ THE WHOLE THING AND THE REPORTS OF SUPPORT BY BARACK OBAMA AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS EMAIL. Senator Obama is the only candidate running for president who urges legislation that asserts recognition of all committed couples without applying an arbitrary qualification to issue a license for marriage. He believes that qualification and grants of the privileged legal rights and benefits should be applied equally, regardless of sexual orientation of the two people involved. Senator Obama has listened and advocates equal marriage rights and benefits for all committed relationships regardless of sexual orientation. Please join me in working to elect Barack Obama as our next president. I like Obama's approach because it doesn't set up an opportunity for judgement and treats gay couples the same as straight couples. The duration and stability of a straight couple's relationship does not come into play when their rights are determined or granted. Why should that be any different for gay couples? Why should some bureaucrat be allowed to sit in judgement over whether or not a gay couple's relationship is "long-term" before granting the rights they seek for their legalized relationship? The fact that both Hillary and Edwards wish to create that opportunity for judgement of gay relationships that isn't present to qualify straight couples's legal rights, is the telling factor in how insincere they both are about the issue. Now, if Hilary and Edwards want to enact a law requiring a probationary period for straight couples before any of their lawful rights and benefits are granted to them, then that's great! Check out the specific candidate statements below." John Edwards HRC ASK 6. Currently, only Massachusetts recognizes equal marriage rights for same sex couples. X Support Oppose Comments: EDWARDS SAYS: Yes. I believe that couples in committed, long‐term relationships should have the same rights, benefits, and responsibilities, whether they are straight couples or same‐Sex couples. I support civil unions to guarantee gay and lesbian couples the same rights as straight couples, including inheritance rights, hospital visitation rights, equal pension and health care benefits, and all of the 1,100 other legal protections government affords married couples. I support the repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act provision that prevents the federal government from recognizing same‐sex relationships. Gay marriage is an issue I feel internal conflict about and I continue to struggle with it. I support the notion that all people – gay or straight – deserve the same rights and responsibilities to assist their loved ones in times of emergency, deserve equal health insurance and other employment benefits currently extended to traditional married couples, and deserve the same property rights as anyone else. However, I do not support gay marriage. Marriage has religious and social connotations, and I consider marriage to be between a man and a woman. If I was President, however, I would oppose any effort to stifle a state's ability to decide this question on its own. Whether it was a Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage or a bill like the Defense of Marriage Act, I would oppose such efforts. I think the President should do all he or she can to advance strong families. Whatever the make-up of the family, it is the President's role to provide policies and leadership that enable the family to thrive. Edwards ""I believe that couples in committed, long‐term relationships should have the same rights, benefits, and responsibilities, whether they are straight couples or same‐Sex couples."" Edwards above statement, is the only one in the area of civil unions i am concerned about. Because straight people don't have to be in long term committed relationships to get married / civil unions. However, edwards does want to repeal the DOMA bill that the clintons levied on us in the 90's, which is a good thing for edwards. Clinton says ""I would like to see federal benefits extended to same sex couples that meet certain standards."" ""I support repealing the provision of DOMA that may prohibit the federal government from providing benefits to people in states that recognize same sex marriage. "" ""I strongly support ensuring people in stable, long-term same sex relationships have full equality of benefits, rights, and responsibilities."" Clintons above three statements have me very concerned that she is side stepping in what she says so as not to commit to anything officially. she would amend the provisions of DOMA in certain standards. Her husband and her were the ones who got us DOMA which Barack has wanted to erase ever since the clintons had it installed as law. Barack obama and john edwards want to repeal DOMA which is good for us. "Obama is the only candidate who supports long-term, same-sex relationships regardless of length of time those couples have been together. In the united states no heterosexual couple is ever challenged to demonstrate length of relationship in order to obtain the privileges of marriage. By supporting Barack Obama, you can join me in supporting the candidate who stands for providing equal rights to same sex couples--with NO qualifications." NOTE: Lastly please send this to your friends who are either gay or lesbian or supporters so they may know the truth of these three candidates. Anyway that is the way i see this one issue of civil unions. I would love for you to evaluate the "rest" of these three candidates statements below. You will see how Hillary Clinton and John Edwards try to use words which give them room to squeeze out of fulfilling their commitment to all of us in the LGBT community. What is he telling Hillary, and is she listening? Link by John Aravosis (DC) · 6/07/2007 01:25:00 PM ET The Kerry Edwards 2004 campaign says Bill Clinton tried to throw gays under the bus. Bill Clinton's office says it's not true. Who do we believe? And what does this mean for Hillary Clinton's presidential run? As Pam Spaulding noted last week, Democratic political consultant Bob Shrum claims in his new book that during the 2004 elections, Bill Clinton advised John Kerry to support the Federal Marriage Amendment, i.e., the anti-gay amendment to the US Constitution that would have banned gay marriage and vitiated scores of other rights that gay couples may have, including health insurance, inheritance, child custody, parenting, and more. Shrum reports that Kerry refused to endorse the amendment. I decided to check with Bill Clinton's office and the Kerry-Edwards 2004 campaign to find out if this is true. Here is what I found. Jay Carson, spokesman for President Clinton told me: "I checked and it's completely untrue. He never advised John Kerry to support the gay marriage ban President Bush was pushing." A senior Kerry-Edwards 2004 campaign staffer told me: "It's definitely true. Newsweek had reported that Clinton had said Kerry should support some of the state [anti-gay] ballot initiatives. Clinton believed it would be this grand master stroke to neutralize Bush's base." I went back to both President Clinton's office and the Kerry-Edwards campaign official, asking them to reconcile the apparent discrepancy. Clinton's spokesman stands by his denial - to the best of his knowledge, it didn't happen. The senior Kerry-Edwards 2004 campaign staffer also stands by their statement that it did happen, noting that Clinton's denial was "typical Clintonian revisionism." (As an aside, I also went back to Clinton's spokesman to make sure that he wasn't parsing his words - i.e., Clinton never advised Kerry to support the anti-gay amendment that Bush was pushing, but did he advise him to push any other version of the federal amendment? Clinton's spokesman assured me that there was no intent to parse, Clinton never advised Kerry to support any version of the federal constitutional amendment.) Go back to the Clinton re-election campaign in 1995. Clinton hired Democratic strategist Mark Penn as his pollster and political adviser along with now-conservative pundit Dick Morris. (Mark Penn is also Hillary Clinton's chief strategist for her current presidential run - more on that later). Penn, Morris and Clinton had decided that Clinton was going to win the re-election based on his support for "family values." And family values meant "bashing gays." From TIME: By the time Clinton arrived in Chicago for his party's convention in August, nothing that hinted at liberalism was left hanging on him. When the President, who had begun his term advocating the rights of gays in the military, came around to supporting the Defense of Marriage Act, which barred federal recognition for gay and lesbian unions, Dole was wide-eyed. "Is there anything we're for that he won't jump on?" Dole asked. The answer, essentially, was nothing... It's no coincidence that after hiring Penn, Clinton signed the anti-gay Defense of Marriage Act and then ran radio ads on Christian radio touting his support for DOMA. From the Associated Press, October 17, 1996: After angry complaints from gay-rights advocates, the Clinton campaign on Wednesday replaced an ad running on religious radio stations that boasted of the president's signature on a bill banning gay marriages.... The Clinton spot also touted his signing of the Defense of Marriage Act, in spite of earlier White House complaints that the Republicans' use of the issue amounted to "gay baiting." DOMA wasn't something Bill Clinton was forced to do, it's something he chose to do, wanted to do, was happy to do. And that explains why Bill Clinton has never repudiated his support for DOMA. I thought at the time, and still thought up until a few days ago, that Bill Clinton was forced to sign DOMA. That the only reason he hadn't repudiated that support - hadn't said "look, it was GOP gay-baiting and I didn't have a choice, no Democrat had a choice" - was because it might put Hillary in a bind, forcing her to also repudiate DOMA, something she of course would WANT to do but couldn't because it might prove politically dangerous. But now it seems Clinton's Choice was much clearer, and more calculated, than that. Clinton thought DOMA was a great idea for him then, and thinks it's a great idea for his wife now. It's not a necessary evil, it's manna from heaven. The final proof that legislative gay-bashing is still something President Clinton recommends as smart Democratic politics? Bill Clinton wanted to make sure that John Kerry's presidential defeat in 2004 would be blamed on Kerry's unwillingness to sufficiently bash the gays. That's the most sensible explanation for why he made the following leak to Newsweek within days of Kerry's loss (Kerry-Edwards campaign staff tell me that they were not the ones who leaked this to Newsweek, and Clinton and his people were the only other party involved). From Newsweek: President Clinton, who signed the Defense of Marriage Act when he was in the White House, advised Kerry in a phone call early in the campaign to find a way to support the state bans. Kerry never considered abandoning his principles to that extent, but he also didn?t take seriously enough the threat. So now the gays lost Kerry the election. Priceless. It gives me no joy to bash Bill Clinton. I cannot express sufficiently how much I admire the man's intellect and his political acumen. We had lunch with him last fall, and my first thought was "this is what a real president is like." He possesses so many of the qualities that our party and our politicians lack nowadays. But the man is politically amoral. Not immoral - amoral. And he, along with his amoral campaign aide Mark Penn, are the top advisers to Hillary Clinton's presidential run. And that should give every supporter of gay rights, civil rights, or any other issue, serious pause. There's already a growing concern in the gay community that Senator Clinton, while "good on paper" on gay issues - and once considered remarkably good personally - will throw us under the bus if and when she becomes president. And let's be clear. We're not talking about some arcane tax policy issue. We're talking about our lives. Having the Democratic party's top two legislative gay-bashers as her top two advisers, men who will betray any cause, any principle, any supporter, for a bump in the polls (read more about Mark Penn's own loyalty problems here and here), does nothing to assuage those growing concerns. ""I opposed the Defense of Marriage Act in 1996. It should be repealed and I will vote for its repeal on the Senate floor. I will also oppose any proposal to amend the U.S. Constitution to ban gays and lesbians from marrying." - Barack Obama"" """The Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law by President Bill Clinton on September 21, 1996, after moving through a legislative fast track and overwhelming approval in both houses of the Republican-controlled U.S. Congress. Its Congressional sponsors stated, "[T]he bill amends the U.S. Code to make explicit what has been understood under federal law for over 200 years; that a marriage is the legal union of a man and a woman as husband and wife, and a spouse is a husband or wife of the opposite sex." [3] The legislative history of the bill asserts authority to enact the law under Article IV Sec. 1, which grants Congress power to determine "the effect" of such full faith and credit. Proponents made clear their purpose to normalize heterosexual marriage on a federal level and to permit each state to decide for itself whether to recognize same-sex unions concluded in another state. Opponents variously question whether the power asserted extends so far as to permit non-recognition altogether, argue that the law is unconstitutionally vague by leaving out essential details, assert a constitutional right to same-sex marriage, or some combination of the three. Although Clinton signed the Defense of Marriage Act into law during his re-election campaign in 1996 and opposed same-sex marriage, he did not mention the law (or the controversy surrounding it) in his 2004 memoir, My Life. In a June 1996 interview in the gay and lesbian magazine The Advocate, Clinton said: " I remain opposed to same-sex marriage. I believe marriage is an institution for the union of a man and a woman. This has been my long-standing position, and it is not being reviewed or reconsidered.""" Obama Statement on Pride Month | June 01, 2007 Link Statement on Pride Month | June 01, 2007 http ://www.barackobama. com/2007/06/01/obama_statement_on_pride_month.php CHICAGO , IL-- U.S. Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) today released the following statement to commemorate Pride Month. "Pride Month is a reminder that while we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do." "Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect." "It's time to turn the page on the bitterness and bigotry that fill so much of today's LGBT rights debate. The rights of all Americans should be protected -- whether it's at work or anyplace else. "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" needs to be repealed because patriotism and a sense of duty should be the key tests for military service, not sexual orientation. Civil unions should give gay couples full rights. And those who commit hate crimes should be punished no matter whether those crimes are committed on account of race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation." "This Pride Month, let's make our founding promise of equality a reality for every American." BARACK OBAMA’S SUPPORT FOR THE LGBT COMMUNITY “While we have come a long way since the Stonewall riots in 1969, we still have a lot of work to do. Too often, the issue of LGBT rights is exploited by those seeking to divide us. But at its core, this issue is about who we are as Americans. It's about whether this nation is going to live up to its founding promise of equality by treating all its citizens with dignity and respect." [Obama Statement, 6/1/07] BARACK OBAMA ON LGBT ISSUES Expand Hate Crimes Statutes: In 2004, crimes against LGBT Americans constituted the third-highest category of hate crime reported and made up more than 15 percent of such crimes. Barack Obama cosponsored legislation that would expand federal jurisdiction to reach violent hate crimes perpetrated because of race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or physical disability. As a state senator, Obama passed tough legislation that made hate crimes and conspiracy to commit them against the law. Fight Workplace Discrimination: Barack Obama believes the Employment Non-Discrimination Act should be expanded to include sexual orientation and gender identity. While an increasing number of employers have extended benefits to their employees’ domestic partners, discrimination based on sexual orientation in the workplace occurs with no federal legal remedy. Obama also sponsored legislation in the Illinois State Senate that would ban employment discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. Promote LGBT Rights: Barack Obama supported legislation in the Illinois State Senate to prevent discrimination based on sexual orientation in housing and public accommodations. Support Full Civil Unions: Barack Obama supports civil unions that give same-sex couples full rights, including the right to assist their loved ones in times of emergency, the right to equal health insurance and other employment benefits currently extended to married couples, and the same property rights as anyone else. Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Gay Marriage: Barack Obama voted against the Federal Marriage Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prevented judicial extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples. “We are better than this. And we certainly owe the American people more than this. I know that this amendment will fail, and when it does, I hope we can start discussing issues and offering proposals that will actually improve the lives of most Americans.” (Barack Obama on the Senate floor regarding the Federal Marriage Amendment, June 5, 2006) Repeal Don’t Ask-Don’t Tell: Barack Obama agrees with former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff John Shalikashvili and other military experts that we need to repeal the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy in consultation with military commanders. The key test for military service should be patriotism, a sense of duty, and a willingness to serve. Discrimination should be prohibited. The U.S. government has spent millions of dollars replacing troops kicked out of the military because of their sexual orientation. Additionally, more than 300 language experts have been fired under this policy, including more than 50 who are fluent in Arabic. Obama will work with military leaders to repeal the current policy and ensure it helps accomplish our national defense goals. Expand Adoption Rights: Barack Obama believes that homosexuals should have the same adoption rights as heterosexuals. Fight AIDS Worldwide: There are 40 million people across the planet infected with HIV/AIDS. Every day, AIDS kills 8,000 and HIV infects 6,000 more people. The disease is set to become the third-leading cause of death worldwide in the coming years. Barack Obama has been a global leader in the fight against AIDS. He traveled to Kenya and took a public HIV test to encourage testing and reduce the stigma of the disease. Promote AIDS Prevention: Barack Obama believes that we cannot ignore that abstinence and fidelity may too often be the ideal and not the reality. Obama went to a large evangelical conference in 2006 to promote greater investment in the global AIDS battle. At this conservative Christian event, Obama pushed for a balanced approach to fighting the disease that includes condom distribution. In late 2006, Barack Obama worked to reauthorize the Ryan White CARE Act, which is one of the largest sources of federal funds for primary health care and support services for patients with HIV/AIDS. The bill was named after Ryan White, an Indiana teenager whose courageous struggle with HIV/AIDS helped educate the nation. Empower Women to Prevent HIV/AIDS: In the United States, the percentage of women diagnosed with AIDS has quadrupled over the last 20 years. Today, women account for more than one quarter of all new HIV/AIDS diagnoses. Barack Obama introduced the Microbicide Development Act, which will accelerate the development of products that empower women in the battle against AIDS. Microbicides are a class of products currently under development that women apply topically to prevent transmission of HIV and other infections.

to reach that goal.

* In February 2008, McCain reversed course

* McCain said he was the "greatest critic" of Rumsfeld's failed Iraq

Americans "deserved" the 9/11 attacks.

* McCain used to oppose Bush's tax cuts for the very wealthy, but he

* In 2000, McCain accused Texas businessmen Sam and Charles Wyly of
being corrupt, spending "dirty money" to help finance Bush's
presidential campaign. McCain not only filed a complaint against the
Wylys for allegedly violating campaign finance law, he also lashed out
at them publicly. In April, McCain reached out to the Wylys for support

"Baracks talk to the nation after he is elected"

Baracks Bills -
1. 2006 Transparency bill = expose corrupt lobby $ that lobbyist give to politicians so we the people can either impeach them or not re-elect them

2. TECH PLAN = 2007 = http://www.USAspending.gov = expose all government spending so the citzens can see where their tax money goes

3. 2008 = SUNSHINE bill = SUNLIGHT FOUNDATION = http://www.sunlightfoundation.com/ = http://www.sunshineweek.org/sunshineweek/candidates = EXPOSE future spending. This is acomplished as Barack and his newly elected cabinet point out to WE THE PEOPLE , negative porkbarrel spending so we the people can rally against a certain senator or congress person or committee to stop it before it goes up for vote or support it if it is good for we the people = honest government finally controlled by WE THE PEOPLE.

Who knows maybe one day in the future we won't need politicians as we the people stay involved in what is going on in all 3 branches of government and we use the computer to approve the direction of our country / government.

Barack will be holding weekly / monthly speeches, to WE THE PEOPLE, guiding them as to which negative earmark / porkbarrel spending should be stopped (removed from a future bill) by the people rallying together online before a bill with that earmark goes up for vote!

Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL)

Obama has outlined an ambitious transparency plan that incorporates technology to "help connect government to its citizens and engage citizens in a democracy."

Among the proposals in Obama's plan to open government are: putting government data online in accessible formats; airing live webcasts of agency meetings; restoring scientific integrity; allowing people to track federal grants, contracts, earmarks and lobbyist contacts online; and allowing five days for public to review and comment on legislation online before its signed.

In an October 2007 speech, Obama pledged to "turn the page on a growing empire of classified information, and restore the balance we've lost between the necessarily secret and the necessity of openness in a democratic society by creating a new National Declassification Center."

Past is Prologue

One of Obama's most visible Senate actions on the open government front was his co-sponsorship of the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act, which went into effect Jan. 1, 2008 with the launch of USAspending.gov, a Web site that gives people access to information on government contracts, grants and other awards.

As an Illinois state senator, Obama co-sponsored the Verbatim Record Bill, requiring public agencies to video or audio record closed door meetings, The First Amendment Center reported, noting the law was the first of its kind enacted by any state.

Obama is the only remaining candidate to have signed the Reason Foundation's Oath of Presidential Transparency, and, according to The Washington Post he is the only leading candidate to have released his income tax returns.

"Supporting Parents and Caring for Children". In the
second paragraph read..."From her first job out of law

Hillary is effectively associating herself with the
CDF without seeking actually saying she is and without
saying why Marian the individual citizen, her mentor
at CDF is not supporting her for the nomination. This
mention of the CDF by Hillary in this fashion does not
give the correct impression. Namely, that neither
Marian nor her husband, who resigned the Clinton
Administration in PROTEST, are at odds with the
Clinton's in a most serious way. What is the nature
of that disagreement when the Clinton's are giving the
impression that all is well with her relationship with
the CDF. This is SO a typically Clinton (not quite
honest) maneuver. Marian has a Christian and
Citizenship duty to correct that false impression. To
share the truth with the Democrats and the American
people BEFORE they nominate another Clinton to the
important job of President of the United States at
this critical point in our Nation's history.

The military refuses to come clean, insisting the high rates are due to "personal problems," not experience in combat. Link

Earlier this year, using the clout that only major broadcast networks seem capable of mustering, CBS News contacted the governments of all 50 states requesting their official records of death by suicide going back 12 years. They heard back from 45 of the 50. From the mountains of gathered information, they sifted out the suicides of those Americans who had served in the armed forces. What they discovered is that in 2005 alone -- and remember, this is just in 45 states -- there were at least 6,256 veteran suicides, 120 every week for a year and an average of 17 every day.

MY RESPONSE:

I am a vietnam vet

Ever since i got out in august 1974 i have had a tough time finding stable work. The only real job i had was the C.E.T.A. job = comprehensive employment training act.
i was given in N. Calif working for parks and recreation and then solid waste, where in 1975 in redway Calif I started a recycling center as i picked through trash to separate bottles and cans.

Since being a UCMC soldier i found that i am the kind of person, who wants to serve others. Its ingrained in me. Many call me nuts. I don't know how to work so called regular jobs. I have been a volunteer off and on ever since. I was fortunate in one way moving to Garberville calif where we had many pot growers. that gave me something to smoke to allow myself the ability to hide from my past. I was also told never to mention my service because people would hate me. I kept quiet until this past year. Along the last 33 years i had many stops in VA hospitals. Many times i had cut my wrist. I have scars all over my left arm. I over dosed on tylenol and had my stomach pumped and hung myself and became a cocaine user and over-dosed many times in the 80's. I was told in 1999 i had HEP-C from the injections to prevent it in boot camp. I prepared to die and began to drink hard again, only to find out i was one of the so called lucky ones (15%) who was actually immune to it. Why am i still alive in beyond me. I cut my wrist many times just to get a bed at the VA. However, some VA hospitals did offer me food to eat. Finally in 2004 i was sent a check after i got out. My only friends are those who have died.
Today i volunteer my time for the Obama campaign. I sleep on an 84 yr old womans couch and cook for her to get food. I am her friend and she appreciates me. The very old seem to understand and well they do need help. I have done this since 2004, when i went back to N. calif again to find hope or pot to hide from my past. Today i am in Phila pa suburbs helping another woman.

I am just one and i could go on and on and tell you about how when i got my check i bought a RV to live in but gas got too high so i gave it away to another vet who got a big check than me. Along the way i picked up hundreds of vets along the roads and highways and i fed them.

You people need to understand soldiers like my Dad a deceased 2nd WW vet, who was the second wave at normandy (D-Day) don't have the ability to fit in to so called normal life. Yes there are a few and some of them get involved in politics and try to help others or they get corrupt.

What we need is a place a farm a home where we can work together and then reach out to others from a place of safety. http://www.farmsnotarms.org/

I have heard recently about a farm that is in the works. I pray that it becomes a reality. Link

http://www.nchv.org/women.cfm

I would have never found these above sites without having volunteered for the Obama campaign.

Finally i will say i know how our soldiers feel to be in a war we should have never been in!

""Obama on Ethics and Lobbying Reform""

Link

Throughout his political career, Barack Obama has fought for open and honest government. As an Illinois State Senator, he helped pass the state’s first major ethics reform bill in 25 years. And as a U.S. Senator, he has spearheaded the effort to clean up Washington in the wake of numerous scandals. In the first two weeks of the 110th Congress, Senator Obama helped lead the Senate to pass the Legislative Transparency and Accountability Act, a comprehensive ethics and lobbying reform bill, by a 96-2 vote. This landmark bill was signed into law by the President in September 2007.

PART OF ARTICLE INCLUDED

""Alone among the U.S. Presidential candidates"", Barack Obama is confronting the question of how to produce more accountable and effective politics in our democracy. His just-released Tech Plan (Download Obama Tech Plan) uniquely understands that the time, expertise and enthusiasm that ordinary people invest in making Wikipedia better, for example, can be transformed into practices to make government work better and more accountably. So he doesn't just call for making information more transparent to citizens; he wants to hear what we have to say and enable us to participate. The Plan calls for citizen engagement in the work of federal agencies and demonstrates respect for the intelligence and expertise of the American people. He calls for opening up the closed practices of government and using new technology to enable genuine citizen participation and engagement in our democracy. This is a major and unprecedented step. No other candidate “gets it.” They pay lip service to transparency. He proposes making government data available online as well as ensuring that agencies do their work in public. They talk about citizen congresses that would deliberate in quaint town hall meetings having nothing to do with real world politics or power. He proposes engaging citizens in the actual and ongoing work and decision-making of government -- not Americans talking to elected officials but Americans genuinely participating. They talk about technology and innovation. He offers a comprehensive broadband strategy, commitment to media diversity, and a proposal to improve patent quality, including the practice of rigorous, public peer review like Peer-to-Patent. They talk about strong IP. He balances his support of strong IP with recognition of the need to promote collaboration and innovation. I am excited about Obama’s Tech Plan. In fact, it should be called the “Democracy Plan.”

He alone does what a President should do, namely articulate a vision for democracy in the digital age.

Politicians have been using division since carter. Maybe event before. This means it isn't a republican democratic thing. Its a we the people thing versus the politicians thing. The politicians set us up with people who we think will make changes then we people all settle back and it gets wrose. The bush clinton bush clinton regime is the best example of this division.

The politicains versus the real people political humans who want change has been used to keep the masses in a fog. It has made people think they got something while the politicians stole right in front of their noses.   Read More »

1000 to 2000 WWII veterans die everyday

I wrote this on wensday but i went sick so i am late posting it.

My dad had two hip surgeries in the last 2 years. In the last month I had applied for veterans benefits for my Dad. He didn't want the benefits because he was more concerned for the Iraq veterans. I finally got him registered at the Salem VA Hospital last Monday. Two weeks ago my dad had a stroke. I went down to see him in Virginia. He was able to make a complete smile for me, even though he was paralyzed on one side. My brother went to see him the weekend before last. Then last Wednesday the nurses called me and said my dad had caught pneumonia. I told them to get him to a hospital. My brother (privately) then called and said maybe it was best to let my dad pass. I didn't know how serious my dad was or what my brother had done.My brother later told me that he didn't have much chances for a decent life.

I left last Friday at 7pm to help canvass in new Hampshire Saturday. When I arrived I received a call about 11am that my dad had made a turn for the worse. The nurses said he might not make it though the night. I was shocked. I wondered what I should do. I knew I had driven 7 hours to help the campaign and my dad was dying. I stayed and canvassed
(because like my Dad, he would have wanted me to help other veterans by helping Barack get elected to end this stupid war)
which ended at 3pm and at 3:15 I received a call that they were giving my dad morphine to ease his pain. I then headed south. At about 4:30 I was driving over a bridge and a lake in Massachusetts. I saw a bright light in the sky. Its was like nothing I had even seen before. I said to myself DAD?
In about 15 minutes the nurses called again and said that my Dad had gone un conscience. I kept driving and about 9pm I was in new jersey. I had picked up a hitchhiker in conn who helped me stay awake. He was heading west. We talked. Then about 9:15 the nurses called to say my dads body was turning colors. I called my brother who had just got out of a wedding. My brother said if I felt able I should keep driving. I also had to call a funeral home to pick up his body. My brother was tired from the wedding so I made that call. I kept driving and I had to smack my face constantly to stay awake and the rider had helped me too. I had arrived in staunton Virginia at 5:53 am. I walked into my dads room and he was breathing hard but I didn't realize his condition. I just saw him burning up. I placed some towels I had soaked in ice water to cool him down. I still didn't realize just how bad he was. I cried as I layed my head to his chest and heart and hugged him and then he slowly began to breathe slower. I then called the nurses and they came into the room. Within 2 minutes he gritted his teeth and passed away. He had allowed his body to stay alive until I got there and then he saw I was hurting so he stopped his body. I then realized the bright light over that lake in Massachusetts was my dad. I then went to his sister rose's nursing home. I told her that he was gone. I had been keeping her informed as I drove from new Hampshire to Virginia.

Sunday night I was able to get some sleep at my aunt rose's house in waynesboro Virginia. There I was visited in spirit by my Dad, my grandma, my grandfather (who had never visited me spiritually) and my uncle Charles, who I barely knew but lived many years at that house. It was short but sweet.

Yesterday I buried my dad at culpeper veterans cemetery. He was a Normandy veteran. He was the second wave after D-day. My brother was there to receive the flag. We are both Vietnam veterans. I told the man to put "I love you my sweet Jesus" under his name and dates etc. My other siblings were not able to make it. There had been some issues they had but my brother and myself knew dad had suffered much from WWII. We had forgiven him for his issues over 20 years ago. We had been visiting him since the late 80's. My Dad had taught me how to work. He use to say a "nickel a bag" which meant we could earn some money by collecting weeds in a paper grocery bag and he would give us a nickel. He also prayed with me each night as a child. I would always end the prayer with "goodnight my sweet Jesus - I love you my sweet Jesus" My Dad would say that's a Danie prayer! My dad also taught me to plant vegetables and most of my life I have planted gardens if not for me for someone who had the space. This year I did plant mostly flowers for the woman I care give, but I did get a volunteer tomato plant which so far just has flowers due to it being in a shaded location. It was from my composting pile.

I finally got back to Phila last night. I had a friend take over for me (taking care of the 84 year old woman I care give)

I did just receive a call about my campobama training next weekend. I told them I would be able to make it.

Dad you are always with me now. You will help guide me in all I do just like nanny has been doing.

Each day, 1,000 to 2,000 World War II veterans die nationally.

The last two weeks really took a toll on me. I had ignored my own health and today i went into the VA Phila hospital from 7am till 11am and was given IV and injectable medicine. I have a major infection in my kidney which was causing me to be in a state of high fever. I thought it was just the east coast heat.

Keep me in your prayers and may God watch over us all as we understand that when we die we only shed ours shells. Our spirits do live forever. Its the love we share here that will keep us connected once we move on.

Dear VoteVets.org Supporter, **PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY**

Yesterday, Major General (ret.) John Batiste, a member of our board of advisors, testified in front of the House of Representatives on whether the so-called surge in Iraq is working. Then something curious happened.

An armchair soldier, Fred Kagan of the American Enterprise Institute, tried to maintain that he knows more about the military and Iraq than the man who was a commander on the ground for the United States Army. Both the Chicago Tribune, and our own Iraq veteran Brandon Friedman have the rundown, and how absurd the whole exchange was.   Read More »
This is interesting: Barack Obama is vowing to detail all his earmark requests today and is challenging his Presidential rivals to do the same.

Obama, who's tried to be out front on good government and ethics issues, is apparently the first Presidential hopeful to do this.

Obama spokesman Bill Burton says that Obama will detail his earmarks today by posting a 113-item list on his Senate office website.

Burton emailed us the following quote challenging the other candidates to follow suit:

As a matter of transparency and good government, Obama thinks itÂ's important that voters know who their candidates are, what their sources of income are and whether they have any potential conflicts. We would hope that other candidates follow suit in disclosing their earmarks as well.

Not a huge deal, but clearly, a challenge to Hillary.

Update: Here's the list of Obama's earmarks.

THE Blind of the USA who see President Carter as a fool
Link

My response to their blindness:

DANIELLECLARKE

YOUR WORDS QUOTED:
America''s worst President ever speaks again, with his usual blend of arrogance, naivte, and meddlesome pot-stirring. The man who helped usher in the Islamic Revolution, who helped North Korea achieve the potential of nuclear weaponry, who gave away the Panama Canal, and who was rewarded with a highly politicized Nobel "Prize," has shown once more that he is grossly out-of-touch with reality and carries a basic animus against US interests.

His blind bitterness against any and all Conservatives in government prevents him from grasping the simple reality that Hamas is a proxy terror arm of Iran. Ah...Iran...that old Carter bugaboo.

............................ ................................ ............................. .......................... ................

START OF MY WORDS, some in quotes:

Personally i appreciate that carter is for allowing other countries to have their freedom and self control through the good and caring work he tries to do.

Its been american imperialism that has put us in the position we are in today. Carter was brought in after nixon by the group BILDERBERG.

to qualm the masses after so many died in that stupid vietnam war which made so many super rich even more rich and powerful) (Many so called activist then spent the rest of their lives getting stoned.

Then when they/bilderberg found out he/carter wouldn't go along with them they set him up with the Iran hostage crisis. Then Bilderberg set up Reagan by setting the hostages free the next day after he was elected.

Maybe you have a desire for american imperialism but i don't. Personally i am glad Korea has the freedom to build nuclear weapons and so should Iran. Who are we to tell the world what to do as we have been doing (under the guide of bilderberg) since 1954?

If you think about it, if we americans were on the same footing as other countries and all countries had equal footing, we wouldn't have the wars we have that are created by bilderberg, to keep the war machine running and stealing from the simple people of the world (and we who are not super rich in america are some of the simple people).

America uses so much energy that we would need 3 planet earths to support the rest of the world to have what we have.

Giving people like the middle east their rights to control their own natural resources is the right thing to do.

if perchance one of these countries did attack another we could with the rest of the (we should be equal countries) equal countires would deal with them as a equal group.

So lets look at where we are at. Bilderberg wants to kill off 3 billion people through one way or another to reduce energy use so the rich can have it, as they see it dwindling.

Then bilderberg patiently waits while the rest of us simple people resolve how to make all the robots needed to build everything needed.

then bilderberg is free to drop a birdflu on us and wipe us out.

Or we could all be equal and try to educate with our resources and try to reduce the world population by limiting the number of children we have and we could all learn to use less and thereby share with others who don't have as much in 3rd world countries.

But alas many see that because they are born in the deveoped countries that they have the right to steal other poorer 3rd world countries resouces

while they think they are doing it with many false ideologies such as helping the people of iraq from a tyrant

for example while we silently sit by and allow china to buy oil from sudan, darfur while we turn a blind eye because we are being supported by china with their money to fight the Iraq war. And in the mean time the super rich are buying places where they can with gated communities to lock out the simple people and so they raise the value and thusly will have the ability to target specific simple people areas the world soon with the bird flu.

Yes so many see their own selfish personal family oriented views over the reality that we are all human equal spirits. However, many simple people only see the material world and they can't see the bigger picture of how for eons the powers to be, have kept the masses under their control by having wars and conflicts, while those super rich have sat idly by and have used the simple people and kept them confused, as to what is the truth.

There is no republicans or democrats there are only the powers to be and they decide, who they want in elections. They know that either way, whoever wins they will have someone in power, who will do their bidding.

unless of course a spiritual figure/Barack Obama ?.. can change the mess that bilderberg has created

its a shame when a person Like Jimmy carter is seen as someone, who doesn't facilitate the simple people, because he is trying to help the very very poor people have eqaulity, that these simple people become so blind to the long term truth, that they end up being eventually replaced by robots and in the mean time replaced by immigrants.

Shame shame shame on us simple people for not looking out for the poor and for us not caring to bring equality in the world, as we are fooled by the super rich, as they set up locations around the world like they are doing now in london and other over priced areas, where those super rich will have separate locations safe from where the bird flu will be dropped.

Shame on us simple people for not doing what a person like Jimmy Carter has tried to do for the poor.

oh well many of the simple people along with many many many of the 3rd world poor will be wiped out and the imigrants (enough to keep the super rich happy) will survive while we are removed next after the 3 billion

they are letting die now by famine and by wars and by diseases spread and by drugs allowed to enter countries.

Shame shame shame on us simple people, who only seek immediate gratification, at the sake of the children, who will be ours, who will soon die to lack of us simple people / parents working to make changes in the world.

I can only hope and pray that a leader like Barack Obama with a heart and a soul and an ability to see the long distance future

who is willing to put his life on the line and try to change the direction of the group bilderberg

while bilderberg is probably saying to him, "Ok Barack you have one chance to try to save the simple people and the 3rd world super poor people and save the energy that we the super rich will need for the future before we end up destroying you all."

So what do we do, us the simple people? We better become visionaries and stop seeking our own self gratification, because we will be removed by immigrants willing to do the work and then later by robots or by a combination of both by the powers to be, who don't see the future or the spirits of every human and only see us as a ends to their means.

respectively yours danielle clarke vietnam veteran who listens to the spirits above, who guide me and direct my life.

"life here on earth is but a dream of the true spiritual world from whence we came and to where we will return"

For as you have done for my brothers and sisters so have you done for me. Jesus

I know we really don't die we only shed our shells. I pray all can see past the outer shell to the inner spirit and we as a whole human population can make changes and as GOD says we have free choice to change the direction and save the world.

And even after most are killed off by the powers to be would you want to live in a world like that?
