I am happy that Obama's visit went well in China, but I really think he is taking too soft a stance on Tibet. The Chinese are killing the minority Tibetans and not allowing them to live freely. This is no different than Sudan and Darfur just on a more quiet smaller scale. We need to help the Tibetans and encourage the Chinese to finally free that country from their grasp so that Tibet can return to the peaceful nation it used to be.
I can't believe the Stupak Amendment. Restricting women's rights to get abortions will morally and socially set this country back 100 years and push aborting under ground. Don't people understand that it won't stop the aborting it will just make it more dangerous? I just don't understand people this stupid. That is why I think anyone in support of the Stupak amendment should get this stupak t-shirt.

So the Associated Press was the first to get their hands on the new Palin Book and this is the description that they had for it:
"The 413-page book with 16 pages of color photos but no index."
Basically they are calling it a coloring book, which it is. This is another failed attempt by Palin to be relevant in a society and mainstream media that has long since lost their interest in her quarky neo-conservative and down right dumb attitude.
Everyone here knows what Bill I am talking about! I am so happy that a bill with the public option has passed the House and can't wait to see if it can make it through the senate so that we will finally have real health care in this country. It is time to see some change and I think this is the first step toward that for Obama's administration. Good job to everyone here that did calling, donations and everything else to make sure this country is protected for the future.
If you've got a facebook account and know about the newsfeed then you need to check out this article on Slate. Basically they faked the 100 days of Obama's campaign as if it was on facebook. It's really funny and a great way to remember the campaign with it coming up on the 1st anniversary of the Obama election.

For some reason my post about the Obama Christmas cards didn't make it up on the site, but since it was so cute I thought it would be worth reposting. Anyway, I really like the idea of sending an Obama Christmas card for many reasons this year.
1. It helps reinforce the idea that some people are still behind their President and hope for real change.
2. It shows others that Obama is synonymous with Peace and Joy - two key holiday emotions.
3. It's just a new and interesting way to send a Christmas Card.

By pulling out of the election and telling her followers to vote for her democratic rival, Scozzafava just admitted to the people of Upstate New York what everyone on this list knows - that the Right of the party is becoming crazy. The Right is no longer a party that can be reasoned with, they don't understand or listen and they take their own like Scozzafava and destroy them. Is that politics? No, it is an all out attack on our American ideas. Scozzafava recognized that and that is why she told supporters to move into the Democrats Camp. Let's just hope enough people come to their senses to make a difference over there.
I seriously am not sure WHO Joe Lieberman represents anymore. He isn't a democrat as exampled again today by his refusal to support a health care bill that the majority of Democrats in America want. He isn't a republican because frankly they don't want him. So what is he? He is a stick in the mud, party of one. He can't seem to help any legislation get passed and is just gumming up the works with regards to health care. I wish he would just get over himself and join the party to help enact some real change for once and not be so sore about how nobody likes him. Heck, I would even be willing to send him some worms to eat if he needs it.
Wow! CNN.com completely changed their layout! I actually really like this because it has more featured stories and they have more of the independent reporting. Seems like every wesbite these days is going with that power header. We have it here are democrats.org and now CNN has it...I wonder if that is the cool new thing.
This little blog post is for those conservative democratic congressional members out there. Hey guys, how's it going? Did you guys know that 80% of the party that votes for you wants a public option? Yep, that's well over a majority of 50% Kind of makes you think you should support it in Congress right?
No? Still don't want to? Well consider this your warning. If you're not willing to do what your people want you to do it is time for a change and you will be the next to go. I want to see some real reform in health care and if you're not willing to give it to me then I will find the next person that will. I am tried of listening to your in fighting, just do it as Nike says.
The more and more I read about Majority Leader Harry Reid, the more I like. I think he is the perfect bulldog to Obama's bark and is finally making some movement in the congress on things like health care and capital market reforms. I think that he is the person that when history reviews what we've been through will be seen as Obama's right hand man, guiding the country to successful peace and prosperity.
Well a day after the Falcon mystery it is almost for sure that the whole thing was a hoax perpetrated by the parents of this six year-old boy. So where does that get us in society? Think of all the resources of the state and county that this family wasted for a shot at a little more fame. I am sure it is at least in the 10s of thousands of dollars. I think that we should prosecute them if it is found to be a hoax and make an example of them so that other people looking to defraud the government and divert tax dollars in this economy to stupid things will understand the consequences of their actions. Better yet, if this is a hoax they should be considered for jail time, that is not something appropriate to teach a child of that age.
Check out this cool binder that has the bill of rights wrapped around it. I think this would be a good place to save all of your voter registration stuff or maybe just some good documents at home. Still a very cool binder.

I can't believe what health insurance companies are saying these days about rates. Now, based on the bill in congress they are saying that they will need to raise premiums if this bill passes. These people are the worst kind of vultures that would bleed their own mothers if they had the chance to make a buck off of it. This is why we need the public option because there is nothing they can do to destroy the people and health care will finally be in our control again.
Check out this hilarious video from the Jimmy Kimmel show a couple of nights ago. It features Obama's speeches redone with the T-Pain voice. Very well done and of course a perfect way to lighten the day when politics and work may have you stressed out. Video link below:

What a hilarious letter from JFK! I love the dry wit that all the Kennedy boys seemed to have. It was something of beauty.
It seems like whatever we do there is still no way to get the stubborn people of congress to approve a public option. Despite the overwhelming majority of Americans that believe in it, they still strike it down? Is this not a government for the people?! I just have so much trouble believing that it isn't the special interest groups that have their hands in our officials' pockets steering them to decisions that don't benefit the people. This happens all too often but when it comes to something as basic as health care I feel that there needs to be control of these special interest groups. Can't we just ban them and let the government make decisions for all people not just the people with the biggest pocket books?
Tomorrow at 9:30am the Senate Finance committee once again takes up the debate on healthcare, but this time they are leaving out the public option. To me this is terrible mistake. To force people into dangerous and expensive plans with the money grubbing healthcare industry will only lead to great deaths and less care in this country. That is why I am in support of the Public option and I show my support with clever t-shirts like the one below (which is just one of the ways I show support).

During a hearing on renewing the powers of the PATRIOT Act, Senator Al Franken decided to re-read the 4th Amendment of the Constitution to the Assistant Attorney General (that's the part about unlawful searches and seizures). I love this guy! He's only been in Congress for like two months and he is already trying to get the PATRIOT Act removed. I think Al Franken is a much needed breath of fresh air in the Senate and maybe with the new Dem from Mass. we will be able to finally get some of our civil liberties back.
A train near my house just killed two people that were stuck on the tracks. What a terrible way to go. No control, just absolute fear and then pain and then nothing. I feel terrible for the families that lose their brothers and sisters this way. It is so sudden and unexpected that you have no time to prepare, no time to protect your emotions. Sorry for the morbid thought, I just needed to share
