Forget the outright lies the GOP are ranting about on the House floor about the health care reform bill...they are certainly not gentlemen.

Crude, thuggish tactice to delay.

What a plate full of GOP mismanagement you got yourself into. We're still here. Still supporting you.

We've got your back.

WARNING!!! Don't watch this on full screen. Pretty scary. These are the same people hootin' and hollerin' at Health Care Reform Town Halls.

Looks like our AG is poised to open up the door to probing the use of torture in the Bush administration.

Heed a warning because these pictures aren't pretty.

"Reporting from Washington -- U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. is poised to appoint a criminal prosecutor to investigate alleged CIA abuses committed during the interrogation of terrorism suspects, current and former U.S. government officials said.

A senior Justice Department official said that Holder envisioned an inquiry that would be narrow in scope, focusing on "whether people went beyond the techniques that were authorized" in Bush administration memos that liberally interpreted anti-torture laws."

-- Job losses slowed to 247,000, their lowest total since a year ago, beating expectations by roughly 100,000.
-- The unemployment rate actually *declined* to 9.4 percent from 9.5
percent.
-- May and June job loss estimates have been revised *downward*.
-- Hourly earnings improved.
-- The average workweek lengthened, particularly in manufacturing.
-- The manufacturing sector added jobs on a seasonally-adjusted basis.
-- The NASDAQ will open today about 33 percent higher than when Obama took office.

These numbers do not point toward a "good" economy. Some of them, like the decline in the unemployment rate, are even a bit misleading, since some of that has occurred because a lot of dispirited job seekers have given up on looking for work.

But they do speak unambiguously toward an economy which has almost certainly bottomed out and has probably begun to improve. It is more likely to be a slow recovery than a fast one, especially in employment, but this is arguably the best news that Obama has had since taking office.

I said two weeks ago that if the job loss number declined to 250,000 or so, it would be a game-changer. I was not making a prediction about what the employment numbers would look like. I was merely saying that if this occurred, it would probably be enough to change the tenor of the debate in Washington. Republicans have to be very careful now about not overplaying their hand on health care.

KUdo's to nate Silver!

I LOVE Nate Silver's site:

Have you noticed that the majority of the angry, screaming 'mob' at health care reform are older people?

Yep they sure are. And guess what? They are screaming, "Don't touch my Medicare."

Now think about this. They love their Medicare but are screaming about the government option. SO they want to insure their government run Medicare program stays in place but want to make sure that there is no public option for everyone else. In Short, "The government provides ME with good health care via Medicare, so leave that alone...but......the government can't run health care because they'll screw it up."

Something is very wrong with this picture.

The comments say it all...not that the picture doesn't.

We knew that health care reform would be tough. We knew the big money lobby's would go all out. Well they have. They are busing 'Ordinary Americans' to create havoc at Town hall Meetings. There are many misconceptions out there about health care reform. The worst I've seen is from a site where people that used to blog here do nothing but look for things to complain about regarding the Obama administration. I'm not going to post a link here because I won't want to give their pay to blog site any extra traffic. It's only a handful of Democrat turned right wing lunatic bloggers. Sad really.

Help the White House fight back and send them any emails you receive touting the lies about health care reform. Send them links to pages you see with health care misconceptions.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care.  These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation.  Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

Laslty, if there is  town hall meeting near you...go and express your support for health care reform.  Don't let the insurance industry hold their grasp on your health care.  Don't be like the paid mobsters...be courteous in exporessing your support.

Below is an email sent yesterday.  I've made a few corrections...in the heat of the moment, and eager to get this out to everyone, part of the email didn't make sense.

I kept thinking about this last night as I copied and pasted and sent a total of 187 emails out on health care --- the 'need' of the many greatly outweighs the 'want' of the few.  President Obama is 100% correct - what is happening on Capitol Hill is political, and that's not why our Congressmen and Senators were elected to o ffice.  Our Congressman and Senators were elected to office to DO THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE in their congressional districts and states.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Obama Groups and DNc groups got Barack Obama elected President.  Who would have thought our efforts would get a brilliant black man elected President of the United States.  So, we know our power, let's use it.  Maybe then we can say our efforts got the first health care reform voted in in over 50 years.

Please, write call and send emails to all your groups to call their elected representative to tell Congress to do what we elected them to do...REFORM HEALTH CARE NOW!!!!

I loved reading the blogs about Palin this weekend. So very amusing! My favorite was Paul Begala "Palin Turns Pro":

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/paul-begala/sarah-palin-turns-pro_b_225633.html

So why is she resigning?  I wish Letermen would do a TOP 10 on why.  I think it would go something like this:

1.  She needs more time to shop at Saks.

2.  The heat in the kitchen wasn't condusive with cold Alaska blood.

3.  Levi Johnson is writing a 'tell all' book.  (TRUE!)

4.  She needs more time for fishing.... and hopes for the BIG Fish.

5.  She wants to be paid for long, rambling speeches that don't say anything.

help yourself...add to it.........

Remember the Harry and Louise ads the drug companies financed during the last health care reform debate:

The health system is so unstable that even the drug industry and the insurance companies are worried that it will crash on top of them.

The insurance companies and the drug companies that paid for the ads know that Louise's employer has probably restricted her health coverage or dropped her altogether. And who knows if Harry still has a job? Chris Jennings, who was a senior adviser on health issues in the Clinton administration, says that all participants in the health care system see a vicious cycle at work unless government intervenes. It involves "more and more uninsured, which means more and more premium increases, which means more uninsured, which means more premium increases."

After watching everything that happened during Obam's trip abroad, I am so proud we have a president restoring the United Sates standing in the world.

He was awesome and they loved him.

Michelle was great too. Her speech at the girls school bought me to tears.
Looks like the transistion at the DNc is moving forward or at least until someone is hired to be Internet Director....they are cleaning up the PB blog.

Awesome!!!!
Tonight Obama stayed true to form. Straight talking and telling ti like it was. What I really like is that he is standing firm.

He has a 'bottom line' with the stimulus bill and is willing to reach across the aisle on different parts of the bill as long as the Bill creates 4 million jobs.

Obama has not disappointed me at all. I haven't been 100% behind everything he has done, but I never did support every single postion he held. That's politics. Choose your battles wisely.

I was able to catch some of the Q and A today from the Town Hall meeting.

I have to admit...this was exactly what I expected from Obama.  He has the where with all to tell us the truth of exactly where we are how bad it can get.  No rose colored glasses...he said ho hard it will be.  One of the questons asked of him was the problems he has had with a few of his cabinet appointments.  He didn't pass the buck, he said he made a mistake.

What really intrigued me about this Town Hall was his mentioning other packages that were coming.

 Stay Tuned.

A very proud Obama supporter.

Had to post this....now we really nkow the GOP is out of ideas, since they are turning to Joe the Plumber for help:

Obama is heading for the road for townhall meetings to sell the stimulus package to the American people.  In addition there were thosands of House Meetings this past weekend.
