Donate to Becky's Act Blue today! http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/19418 From Becky's website A Special Message from Becky Greenwald After years of activism in the Democratic Party, a short while ago I decided to run for Congress. I know we can do better than Tom Latham, who has been a rubberstamp for George Bush’s agenda. In Tom Latham, we have a congressman who has continually opposed women’s reproductive rights and has given a green light and a blank check to George Bush’s war in Iraq. Together, we will make a difference for those struggling to get by on the minimum wage. We will make a difference for those who cannot afford access to quality healthcare. We will make a difference for those brave men and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan and facing life with an injury and the scars of war. We will make a difference when we repeal the unfunded mandate known as No Child Left Behind. We will make a difference when we invest in homegrown energy alternatives which lessen our dependence on foreign oil, clean up our environment, and put Iowans to work at high-paying jobs which can’t be outsourced and can be unionized. This a true chance at history and a chance to turn a purple state into a full fledged blue state in the middle of Red Territory!
One of the main things we need to focus on is absentee voting. If you would like to recieve an absentee ballot for your particular state. Whether to fill out yourself or to give to others, just get a hold of me and I will send either the link or the pdf file, whatever you like. Never underestimate the absentee vote! Obama 08!
Mikey, True Blue is a piece of shit, plain and simple. And I dont care what he says. He did very little for Hillary on here and most of his posts where so covered with hate speech that no one really ever took the time to read them, and now he is just alienating more democrats and drawing them away from the party. This guy is the scum of all scum, and I have a feeling he has a couple dozen of the " Democrat in Here and Democrat in There". The best thing to do is not respond to him
Many people believe women's rights is a major issue in America, me included. I have been shocked to see people who claim women's rights as on of there major issues, not support Obama against McCain. Here is what you will be getting with Sen. John McCain "At least I don't plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you c*nt." -to his wife, Cindy, after she playfully twirled his hair and said "You're getting a little thin up there," as reported in the book The Real McCain by Cliff Schecter "Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father." --at a 1998 Republican fundraiser From Joe Conason I'd love to see a point where [Roe v. Wade] is irrelevant, and could be repealed because abortion is no longer necessary. But certainly in the short term, or even the long term, I would not support repeal of Roe v. Wade, which would then force x number of women to [undergo] illegal and dangerous operations." Then he flashes forward to 2006, as McCain prepared for this year's presidential race, when the senator declared that he does not merely favor overturning Roe, but supports a constitutional amendment that would ban abortion in almost all circumstances. Schecter provides another quote, from a McCain appearance last year on "Meet the Press," when he claimed that he has "always been pro-life, unchanging and unwavering." Except when he wavered and changed, of course. And he thinks he will get Clinton supporters? HA!
I had been asked a lot recently, how I could be "Doing everything I can" when I am not registered to vote. This bewildered me, as I am registered to vote and voted in Iowa's statewide primary on Tuesday. I looked at all my posts, and there was absolutely nothing that said anything that would apply this. In my bewilderment, I looked at my profile and sure enough, it said that I was not registered to vote :( An extremely embarassing fopah (is that how you spell it?) So to take your eyes of me, I have provided this link
In 2006, Rep. John Doolittle defeated his Democratic opponent, Col. Charlie Brown, a retired Air Force pilot, by 49% to 46%. However, the ongoing FBI investigation of both Doolittle and his wife, both of whom have ties to convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, got to be too much and in January Doolittle announced that he was not running for reelection. Brown is running again. The Republican candidate is Tom McClintock, a state senator who represents a district 400 miles from CA-04. McClintock was first elected to the state assembly at 26 and later graduated to the state senate. He was run for state controller and governor and lost. He is extemely conservative, perhaps even too much for this heavily Republican district. Here is Col. Charlie Brown's act blue http://www.actblue.com/entity/fundraisers/16314 This a R +11 district! If we can turn it over it would make history!
Today in America we face a challange larger than our personal opinons, larger than our favorite candidates and most importantly larger than us as individuals. The country is at a pivotal turning point and either we can go forward with our bickering, name calling, etc. and we can increase our divison and do absolutely nothing to further our cause or we can work towards solving the big issues and work towards a better tommorow Thanks Blue PS The list of groups I posted this in is no accident. The wonderful thing about the Democratic party is the we TRULY represent the wide peaceful diversity that is this great country of America
Because she is a woman is not only untrue, but is also degrading to women and men everywhere. This race has very little to do with the sex of the candidates, I cant believe my fellow Clinton supporters are using this line. Once again I hang my head in shame.
I spent a year in Colorado Springs, one of the most beautiful places on this earth, any ways, you can do your part to make this vital swing state blue by filing absentee and getting your friends and family to do so also. There are many things that may happen between now and November and cannot wait to start gaining a lead here is the link http://www.elections.colorado.gov/WWW/default/Clerks%20Corner/SOS%20Approved%20Forms/2008_forms/approved_mail-in_ballot_application_color_4_7_08.pdf Thanks Blue
http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/forms/a5-14.pdf Early voting! It could be what wins us this state. Make sure you email it to every Texan you know! We need grassroots if we are going to win this election, we also need Texas!
I have created an event for Iowa voters at: http://www.democrats.org/page/event/detail/4vh5b or simply download and print a request form from: http://www.sos.state.ia.us/PDFS/AbsenteeBallotApp.pdf I encourage everyone from all fifty states to start there own drive. I can help with other states to, if you need a geek on your side! Thanks and keep it Blue!
I just read the post I typed last night. Wow! Yet another reason not to drin and type! I'll have to use my "asshole" pass on this one. Yesterday was pretty rough for all of us. But the general election starts today! Lets win this one!
If anything I have said offended anyone. This day has been very long and very painful. It does seem like it was all for nothing. Not only because Hillary lost, but because Hillary supporters degraded caucus states and claimed them to be irrelevant. I do not have 10 hours a day to help out with the campaign. I couldnt spend every waking moment helping out, but here we worked our asses off, and it was all for nothing! That is the reason I cannot jump on board with all your "write in campaigns" and "your voting for McCain" Because before it was obama, it was Iowans and Coloradians and Washingtonians and Nebrasians that were being "written out". And now you want us to support you against the democratic party? The party that actually counted our votes. With all do respect, you can go to hell. I will support Obama because he took care of Iowans. Yeah, we werent able to get Hillary a victory here, no matter how hard we tried, but that is not for lack of effort. You know what... Im not fuckin sorry! You fucking bastards! I wasted my fucking time supporting our candidate for fuckin nothing!!! YOU FUCKED UP THE PARTY!!!! NOT OBAMA!!! NOT THE DNC!!!! And you deserve to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First of all, 1.)We broke up into groups based on our precint. 2.) Than we seperated into groups based on our candidate 3.) Than we counted numbers. 4.) Clinton, Obama, and Edwards where the only ones viable. 5.) the undecideds went into the back and ONE person from each group (Clinton, Obama, Edwards) where allowed 5 minutes a piece to talk about there candidate. 6.) when it was all said and done, most of the non-viable candidates came together to make Bill Richardson viable while others went with the big three. 7.) the whole process took 1 hour. 8.) I was never, at any time pushed around, forced upon, or humiliated. 9.) There where so many people there, there was no way that I could have been singled out 10.) Hillary Clinton supporters numbered 178, 10 more than the total number participating in the 2004 caucus in our precinct. Those lies you've been told, those horror stories from people who have no clue about what goes on are blatant lies and self distructive! Count Iowa! I cannot imagine why I am being alienated just because of my state of residence! And by the very people who Scream about Florida and Michigan... I am ashamed to call you my fellow Clinton supporters. I do not understand why such a great leader who inspires such fellings of togetherness in me and many others could attract such exclusive people like you!!!! Hillary Clinton was always too good for you!
and a wee bit drunk I voted for Hillary in our caucus in Iowa. And everytime I hear the popular vote arguement, I have to shut up, because my fellow Clinton fans dont count Iowa, Nebraska, or Washington (caucus states) but do count Florida and Michigan who broke the rules. It just makes me feel empty, that we Hillary supporters in Iowa are completely abandoned because of circumstance. Do you know what kind of shit the Clinton campaign went through for 6 months here? You guys scream and yell because we are first, but you fail to think about the whole f$##ing year of 2007 when we were in complete campaign mode! And the hours the Clinton campaign gave in Iowa! I get more hatemail from Clinton supporters because I live in a caucus state, than from Obama supporters. I love Hillary, I have come to the realization that her fans do not always represent her and I just have to deal with that... But when democrats completely turn there backs on Iowa and than Scream that every vote should count in Michigan and Florida, it makes me want to hang my head in shame.

Ran a great race. She has inspired me to have faith in our government and to be proud of my service in the military and my heritage. She has given me hope to accomplish what I previously thought was impossible. The best thing is I know there are millions out there, not only in America, but around the world that feel the same way, and I am sure that Obama supporters feel the same way about him. Hillary Clinton will always have my undying respect for her service to this nation. She said that if Obama wins the nomination, that she would campaign as hard as possible and to do everything she can to make sure he wins the general election. I WILL DO MY ABSOLUTE BEST TO DO THE SAME!!!!! The campaign may be nearing the end, but the dream is still alive!!!
The polls close soon now, and like it or not we will need to start looking toward the general. I mad a list of swing states from -3(Hard pick up) to +3 (Easy Pick up). I wanted to get your opinons +3 Iowa, Wisconsin, Colorado +2 Pennsylvania, New Hampshire +1 Ohio, New Mexico, Conn. 0 Indiana, Virginia -1 Missouri, Michigan, South Carolina -2 North Carolina, Nevada, Texas, Mississippi -3 Montana, South Dakota, Louisianna What do you think?
