A blog about supporting Barack Obama and his 2008 presidential campaign

I don't I can add youtube videos here, but in case some of you haven't seen it yet, here's the youtube link I'm mentioning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIVd7YT0oWA

What I'm wondering about are what other christian bloggers opinions are about Barack Obama's comment he made in Turkey about the United States not being a Christian nation? I'm tempted to say that I think he's right in some ways that as a whole we aren't defined by religion like some countries are(Middle eastern countries especially), but Christianity still goes very deep in this country. It may not officially be X, and that's to be expected, but it's an interesting thought to bring up. I know of many people who would say the USA is a Christian nation. I wrote another blog post about Obama's video and his christian t-shirts on my main website, but I'd like to know here what people's opinions are about this. It's something that' touches us more than some of us might want to think about.

It's long overdue for another blog update so I figured today should be the day. There has been lots of things going on with Obama recently I'm interested in mentioning. First of all, the new change.gov website is a HUGE improvement of the old failure of a website bush had as his main internet hub. Not only was the site non-informational, but it literally was a "miserable failure" in the eyes of google for a few months. It will be nice to be able to see all the government spending right on my computer screen and only a few clicks away. I'm not even sure how you could have seen the government's expenses in the past.

Another thing I'm really liking with the current administration are the weekly videos. I don't have a tv, so being able to watch them online is a real big plus for me. Well, that and the fact that there are even videos being made every week. I think Bush tried to avoid the public eye as much as he could, and I think he did a good job of it. I can't remember exactly how many days it was, but his use of "vacation" time was just unreal. Obama jumped into office and immediately put to end a couple of Bush's laws and did some serious work... something that I feel has been missing from the oval office for way too long.

So, in my own spare time, I've been busy creating a new t-shirt designs around the whole "nobody messes with joe" thing that happened last week. I created a new blog, and my latest post is about St Patricks Day shirts and how Obama is so popular with this holiday for some reason. It's amazing people are so deeply into anything related to him. As an example, on the site I make all my designs on, the first and most visible link on their main St. Patrick's Day t-shirts page goes to their Irish Obama t-shirts page. Obama is getting an awful lot of publicity for such a non-related topic. His mother's side of the family does have some Irish roots, but just wow.

In other news, I think I'm going to make a large overhaul to my Obama sitein the next several months. It's just really hard to maintain, and I'd like to add many more features like chats, forums, and a few other things. It's hard to do with a busy schedule, but I'll get to it after one of these inspiring weekly videos from Obama. Until then, I hope everyone is doing decently in this crazy economy.

I haven't written in a while, but after the collapse of several of the largest financial keystones in the country I feel like it's important to get a few words out. The NY times and a few other news agencies have mentioned how Barack Obama is now changing his focus from previous topics over to the economy. I think that's great. There are enough Barack Obama supporters to understand where he's going and coming from to realize it's not just a publicity stunt. The thing that the NY Times and other organizations don't realize is that there is a huge fear in the back of many Americans minds as to what will happen now that banks and other huge companies are collapsing. It's NOT a publicity move. Obama didn't make this happen and he's not benefiting from giving his opinions about the situation. I for one would love to know how he will react to such a newsworthy even such as lehman going down the tubes. This is respectable. I hope the media don't twist it any more than they already have.
I think Obama has chosen the absolute best candidate for his running mate. Congrats Biden... you're not just my homeboy, you're my homeboy's homeboy.

It couldn't have been said better. This is perfect...
Joe Biden is my homeboy's homeboy

Barack Obama

I read on some random political blog that if Barack Obama makes it into the later stages of the election process, he expects to be able to get many million more black voters to the voting booths. Being able to influence someone to the point of actually getting them to vote is an enormous task and I applaud his efforts but one group I've yet to see targeted much are the younger voters or "just about to be voters" group. I truly feel this younger generation WOULD vote for Obama and in some ways, would hugely benefit him even if they won't be old enough to vote.  The sheer amount of time kids spend online.. on myspace, forums, etc could end up giving him that edge he needs if only he could take a step towards actively pursuing them and their concerns. In the meantime, people have taken it upon themselves to create images like the above one which are surely going to be passed around and might end up jump starting his "coolness" factor.
